Who would have thought I would ever have this problem. I had an RNY 4/06 and have lost 112 pounds. I started at 260.. I am at goal, you can count my ribs... this is all really fast and I don't know how to stop it. I cannot eat 6 time a day more than a few tablespoons a time. If I do 3 meals a day I might have a meal here and there that I eat a cup or a little more...maybe 1-2 time a week. I am starting to have pain with eating, no vomiting, but nausea. I wonder about an ulcer, I am on a lot of suppliments. I had some leftover Nexium that I started taking 3 days ago to see if it helps... Does anyone have any ideas or sugestions? Thanks Pam

Hi, Pain and nausea can be a million and one things. Some not so serious and some very serious. Go see your surgeon. Ask to get a CT-Scan done and a upper GI w/small bowel follow-through to rule out if there is anything mechanically wrong. Good luck!!

Please get in to see your surgeon...could be an ulcer but still could be a stricture or other problem. You need to have this addressed...this isn't normal and you're right to be concerned. At 8 months out, eating shouldn't be this difficult... Nancy

Pam, Not to scare you, but I had similar problem last week and wound up with major surgery. It was quick and sudden. Do not wait. Call the surgeon and let them know. My dr told me to get out of denial and listen to my body. I had a huge problem eating within a short period of time, then it affected my swollowing. I thought it was reflux. It was an internal hernia at the peterson's space. It can be quite serious if left too long. Good luck and call the dr. Jennifer

Hi Jennifer, I know that this is an older post, but I just came across it. I too developed a Peterson's hernia a few weeks ago and had emergency surgery to repair it (and the associated bowel obstruction). This makes 3 people that I know of who used Dr. B and had a Peterson's hernia. Very interesting. Roberta

Hi - I'm only a month out, but the last few days whenever I ate or drank, my midsection hurt - like a stomach ache or cramps. I went to see the surgeon today and after some tests determined that I need my gallbladder taken out on Friday. I would check with your surgeon. Becky

ask your surgeon to check for a stricture.    kate
