Bowel/Stomach Noise -- Drastic Increase
Hey all. I was hoping to hear from anyone who has had a similar problem. In the last two weeks, my bowel and stomach noises have increased 10 fold. They are so strange. My bowel movements have changed as well. I use to go once a day...now...MAYBE every three days. Right now it has been three days and I still haven't went and I don't feel like I have to.
I immediately start wondering if I have an obstruction. However, I have little or no abdominal pain -- just the occasional twinge on the side or pain in the back. Nothing lasting longer than a minute. It is strange.
Anyone have any guesses?
Well this is me exactly,i had 8 bowel obstruction in june and this was my symptoms, and no ct scan showed them, but listen mine was called blind loop syndrome,my intestines was twisting and then i would take a laxative and they would be normal, just keep an eye on your pain mine was to the left of my belly button and i did get doulbed over a time or to that i thought was gas but it wasnt..............i hope you get better...................vickie
well i had adhesions that grew around my intestines ,so laxatives didnt work,i had to have surgery to cut the scare tissue away, but if you get in pain you need to go to the hospital and have a ct scan, and i have surgery again tomm,i no when i have one now because the pain didnt stop,it is a stabbing pain that last about2 hrs after i eat, just never second guess yourself,i had a freind wait and lost part of her bowels because they died from obstruction that she let go................vickie
Hi there .. My name is veronica and I was reading up on your left side pain and I just recently had a cat scan on Saturday 12-16-06 and they showed a cyst on my ovary and nothing else. But the pain I have I wouldnt think was due to a cyst. Its like a menstrual cramp or throbbing sometimes movement. I poop fine and pass gas fine. Im a little nausous but please try and e-mail me back and let me know if I should further investigate. Thank you
Ann,
I had a bowel obstruction last month. I was doubled over in pain, after an hour I knew something was wrong and I had to go to the ER. The catscan looked like I had an internal hernia but I just had a blockage. I ate a plate full of grilled veggies at lunch that day and ate too fast without chewing thoroughly. I was in the hospital for 5 days and they gave me mineral oil and milk of magnesia to get it to pass.
Do you still have your gallbladder? That caused pain in the upper right abdomen that went to the back.
I would consult your surgeon. If you still have your gallbladder they may recommend an ultrasound to see if you have any gallstones. If you don't he may want you to take milk of magnesia regularly and should monitor the progression of your problem. It could be nothing but let's face it, we will be close to our surgeons the rest of our lives because of our unusual anatomy.
Best of luck and happy holidays!
