Anyone having these problems?

I had surgery November of 2004. I started out at 285 and now weigh 127. I have absolutely no body fat left and cannot eat enough to retain my current weight. I have no energy and have lately been having chest pains and sharp pains in my sides and stomach. I have actually been losing muscle mass too. I have to have a referral to see my surgeon, and my local clinic refuses to give out a referral because they say there is nothing wrong with me. These problems have become worse since I had my gallbladder removed in July of this year. I am just wondering if anyone else is feeling the same way.

Yes. Please read my profile for more information. I was 2 yrs out on the 3rd of this month (November 2004 - same as you). My gallbladder was removed 4 weeks after my original bypass surgery. I felt really good for about 10 months and then I started having abdominal pain. We had since moved to another city and state but I sought help. It should be noted that I have a long history of abdominal illnesses (23 yrs or since the age of 15). After being told for 7+ months nothing by several doctors and many tests, I was wrong with me. I had to fly home to see my original surgeon for exploratory surgery. I had an internal hernia and adhesions. Neither of those conditions show on any of the tests I had - and I think I had them all -- some twice. That surgery was at the beginning of June. I must have been feeling OK because I had an elective surgery at the beginning of July. When I got off the pain medication from my elective surgery, all h*ll broke loose. I live in constant abdominal chronic pain. I've had a CT Scan which was inconclusive by the radiologist, staff surgeon, and my bariatric surgeon, though it was noted that it appeared that I had three loops in the small intestine. My original bariatric surgeon said to book another surgery because there were certainly no loops there when he left my body. I have since found information regarding "blind loop syndrome." Because I didn't have a blockage and it wasn't an emergent situation, I have elected to try other things first. I At any rate, my intestinal tract keeps "rejecting" things with spasms/gagging even on just liquids. We found a drug (after other trials of medication) used to treat IBS that has helped with the spasms and I've gained a few pounds. I still, however, live in constant pain. Sometimes it is worse than other times but I can find no rhyme or reason for that - such as type of food eaten, etc. For experimental sake (so that I know what's going on), I have not taken the medication before eating and WOW the problem is still there!!!!! I'm flying out tomorrow to see him at his Thursday clinic. I have no idea what the next step for me will be but I'm NOT happy! I sure hope you find out what is causing your problems and that you feel better very soon!
