Burning pain-left area of intestine area
I had lap-rny surgery on Aug 21st. I have been having burning pain in the left side of my intestine area. It is there all the time but when I try to get up from bed or in a chair I feel like I can't. It takes me an hour to psych myself into getting up. I went to the surgeon but the nurse told me it was muscle pain and I have been taking flexeril but it hasn't been helping. Does any one have any ideas????? Could this just be from muscles?? Has anyone else experienced this???? Please help.

If this pain is there constantly, you are running the risk of an obstruction. Go back to your surgeon. Do not let the nurse tell you it is just muscle pain. Muscle pain comes and goes as you use the muscles. Insist on seeing the surgeon and get as many tests as necessary to figure out what this is. If it ends up being just muscle pain, at least you know that you were proactive and got it taken care of before it became a huge problem.
Thank you both for your input. The pain seems to be subsiding in the morning when I wake up but returns as I do more during the day. I tried to look up flexeril on the internet but it doesn't say whether or not it's an inflamatory so, just to be on the safe side, I stopped using it. It didn't do that much anyways only put me to sleep. Called surgeon to give him an update and he said it sounds like it is getting better but could take from 6 to 8 weeks (it's only been 3 weeks). It's great to know there are wonderful people like you out there.
