Fistulas, anyone??

Haven't posted in three months; have had three surgeries since 5/16/06. I have at least 3 and perhaps 4 fistulas that are draining through my open incision and onto a large dressing that has to be changed three times a day. I am on TPN (total parenteral nutrition) through a PICC line (which is my 4th one since the beginning) 24 hours a day at home. Anyone else with such problems? I am told I must wait another 3 or 4 months before they can attempt to repair them; am on ice chips and bits of shaved sugar-free popsicle by mouth because one of the fistulas is off the RYN. Hi Jennie! I have a gastric(pouch) intestinal fistula with an ulceration . Was put on TPN last week for hydration and malnutrition and am having surgery Monday for a revision( not a reversal) I had RNY 7-13-04 and did wonderful for 2 yrs. My wt stablized for almost 6 months at @ 136-138 from orginal wt of 363 lbs. I had plastic surg May 24th ( arms, tummy and thighs) and over the next 2 months developed 4 differrent infections. Was on 5 rounds of 4 different antibiotics by mouth plus 4 different IV antibiotics) Than I started with severe nausea and its gone down hill since. Has CT scans etc, a scope by a GI who thought 2 holes in my pouch was normal and finally went back to my wls surgeon who found problems. Re : Mon surgery to cut out diseased area, re anastamosis pouch and intestine and if "old" stomach ok get a feeding tube til all heals. Janette RNY 7-13-04 363/120(before TPN)
