I just had my surgery on the 1st of this month and I too have had severe back pain. I didn't have it before surgery and I haven't done anything to cause it since surgery. i was just wondering if they yanked me when putting me on the operating table, being as I was out when they took me in there. It's been 26 days since surgery and today is the first day I have noticed the pain is lighter. Standing at the sink doing anything is the worst. I hope someone can help your mother, she's suffered for quite some time already. Sorry Misty, I don't think I'm really much help.

Misty, Honestly this sounds like her gall bladder if she has one and if not then have they checked the bile ducts for stones? Sorry she is having problems but do not give up. Have the wls doc keep on until he finds the source of this pain.he can do exploratory surgery if need be. This continual pain is NOT normal. Some back pain is but this extreme pain is not normal for anyone. Please let me know what they find out. Praying for yur Mom and you. Fran b

I have had the same problem with back pain and mild pain at the fright front and they are sending me for an ultrasound for my gall bladder, I agree it is something to check for if she already hasn't had it removed. The pain in my back brings tears to my eyes and is making work very difficult, she is definately not alone.
