Question about possible weight loss complication

I am looking into this surgery and have had my consult. My surgeon feels l will be able to lose approx. 200 pounds within the first 16 months. Is this possible? and if so, will this cause problems with my heart? Has anyone had this question? I am going to call my doc tomorrow, but wanted the board's opinion. Thanks.

Hi Jennie....I too have been researching, and researching, and then I research some more..... In all I've researched, I haven't read anything about heart problems being a complication of surgery. What surgery are you contemplating having? In all the research I have been doing, I believe the DS - Duodenal Switch will allow me to lose the most weight, keep it off, and eat pretty normally. I'd love to hear from you since we are both pre-op and, as I said, researching Best Wishes Linda
