Hi Karen,
I have had four days of holiday celebrating with family.  I hosted my family dinner yesterday, as my daugter begged me to split the holiday into two days, as she, and her brothers, hated having to leave my family dinner to go to her Dad's every Christmas she is in town.  So, I hosted mine the day after.  Her in-laws do this to allow their children to celebrate at their spouses' families on the holiday.  Problem is, my daughter lives 12 hours away from us, so she only comes home every other Christmas.

My older son spent Christmas in Dallas with his lovely wife.  He flew into Philadelphia today, and he and his sister gave me my present today.  It is an 18 speed hybrid bike.  I love it.  Unfortunately, I need to buy a helmet and have a dry warmer day than today to try it out..  It was pouring most of this afternoon and evening.

I have not been to worship in a while.  My physical and emotional health has been a mess.  Then, about three weeks ago, I began to experience anger toward God for the deaths of the men in my family.  My father died at 51, leaving my 11 year old brother a mess.  Then, five years ago, God took that brother at the age of 40.  A little over a year later, he took my older brother at age 56.  I never fully grieved for them.  In order to work through my anger about their deaths, and my family's losses, I have been writing letters to God.  I am not ready to attend worship services yet, because of my anger.

I hope you have had a good holiday week.

Hugs,
Trish

Whew now that the big holiday is over maybe I can get back on track here and post daily again! I shouldn't allow it to slow me down but I just run out of hours in the day.

So what is wrong worshipping? Isn't any worship good? Not always because many especially non Christians get the idea that if they worship God that He will provide them with good and wonderful stress free lives. Oh what I could tell them about that! They see good things happen to us and feel that if they do the same actions they will also get a good life, What many don't understand is that we worship God (or should) because He has already given us the blessing of salvation and that is why we worship Him because He is always there for us, we are adopted into His heavenly family when we accept Christ as our personal Savior. We also can have just as many trials as the unsaved but often we handle them better or more easily because we KNOW God walks with us and is there 24/7 to guide us. So don't worship Him just to get benefits, worship Him because we already have all the benefits!

God bless!

Merry Christmas Karen and OH Friends,
I am so grateful for the Lord's birth, death and resurrection.  I appreciate His humble beginnings, because I was poor when my babies were born as well.  Yet, our belief in Him, and acceptance of His salvation means I am adopted into His family as a royal heir.  I am a child of the King of Kings.  Praise Him.

Hugs,
Trish

Oh I know how you feel! I used to work a minimun wage job and had a young daughter. However at Christmas it was my job at work to collect money and buy gifts for needy families. So here would be piles of toys for "other people" and while my daughtr never went without it was so hard to explain to her why she didn't get any of those gifts and why we had to give them to other kids! Now we have lots of relatives so she always got plenty but at that age more is better!

I really tried to make it more about the real meaning of Christmas by reading the Christmas story out of the Bible on Christmas eve and we made cookies (thank you food stamps) and then gave some to friends and neighbors. It's hard for kids to really understand when it is so commercialized but all you can do is help them see the real gift of Christmas which is our Savior who came from nothing but ended up King! I pray our Lord will help you to get this across to the little ones and that you will be blessed this Christmas. If you show joy and thankfull ness they will see that and hopefully join in.

 Hi Karen,
Both of my older kids had to be hospitalized for dehydration at age four. Turns out my daughter had oral herpes, which she caught from my ex, when he had a broken cold sore.  We did not know he was contagious back then.

The most painful thing was haring my daughter cry when they put in the IV.  I slept in a recliner in her room with her.  When my son was hospitalized, I was very pregnant with his brother, and it was a different hospital, so they did not have a recliner.  I sure hope your little angel has a quick recovery.

Hugs,
Trish

P.S.  I messaged you on Facebook, because it is easier to me to use that one.

Yes how anyone can be calm after that loss is amazing and the hymn just brings me to tears because a lady in our church who suffered greatly from cancer loved this song and sang it all the time right up to her death and she truely meant every word even thru her suffering!

Poor baby girl is only 4 so it's so hard to make her undertand how important fluids are. Grand daughter said if she doesn't get some fluids in soon like popsicles she won't hesitate to take her to the ER. I imagine it's just a bug of some kind but you know how helpless we feel when we can't fix them up.

I'll be looking for the prayer requests, thanks.

 Hi Karen,
I did not fully understand the hymn, "It Is Well," the first time I sang it as a Baby Christian.  Then, I heard the story behind the hymn, which is very moving.  The writer of the song lost his wife and children when their ship sank crossing the Atlantic.  He took a trip to Europe, and asked where the other ship went down, and he had such peace about his loss, he was moved to write that hymn.  What a testimony.

Poor great-granddaughter.  How old is this angel?  I am praying for her.

I need to PM you some private prayer requests that I can't put on the forum.  I will try to do that tonight.

Hugs,
Trish

As Christians we need to remember that no matter what is going on in our lives, all is always well because we have Jesus to take care of our every need and problem. It reminds me of an old hymn, It Is Well. We may feel like our world is crashing in around us but Jesus is always there to make it well again! The hardest part is giving it over to Him and trusting Him to handle it for us. So remember this time of year especially that all is well when Jesus is at the wheel.

I have a prayer request for my poor little great grand daughter, she is sooo sick, not vomiting just hot with fever but she won't drink so we need prayer that she will start drinking or eating her posicles so she doesn't get dehydrated. Thanks in advance for your prayers!

God bless!
