Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.

How many times do we get annoyed because something slowed us down and once we get going down the road we see an accident that had we been on time we would have been that unfortunate car? Is your life full of coincidences? Are they really or is God watching over you, His child, making sure you are taken care of?! God loves to spoil His children and make our lives good, we in turn need to remember to thank Him for that love.

God bless!

I have found that knowing my Spiritual gifts makes doing good deeds a lot easier, and fun at times.  I have also learned that our good deeds do not need to be done only in church.

Right now, I am frustrated, because I signed up to volunteer with the homeless ministry my church works with, but have been sidelined by the leg injury.  There are four churches that host the homeless in the worst winter weather, and February is my church's month to host.  l get such a feeling of gratitude the nights I am there, but only was able to volunteer twice in December, before I fell and got the serious leg injury.

I do know that I can cook meals to take to the church for the nights the homeless are there.

Hugs,
Trish

Your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

Just like the grocery stores God has a points program where you get rewards. Altho His is much, much better than a grocery. He not only sees the bad you do but also the good you do! He also rewards us for our good deeds. It may not be right away but He is keeping track. When you do something good in His name He remembers and compensates us for glorifying Him. So go ahead and do good deeds, not for the reward but for the glory it gives to our Lord. He gave everything for us so we can certainly do some kindnesses for Him!

God bless!

Great post again Trish! Sometimes people think things are too small to say thankyou for, but nothing is too small. God appreciates every thankyou!

Here is today’s gratitude list. 1. Maria is making more baby steps. 2. One of my wounds has made significant progress in healing. 3. The wound nurse is coming out tomorrow. 4. My pain has lessened, though still exists. 5. My neighbors next door, who have helped me a lot lately. Very friendly young couple. I have had opportunities to invite them to church, and they are seeking. They are engaged. 6. My cozy apartment, and being given the opportunity to have the first floor, and a yard for Utley. 7. All of my doctors, especially the vascular surgeon who did my surgery, and the ear, nose throat doctor who will repair my broken nose one day. 8. My heating pad, which helps my back pain. 9. The lidoderm patches the pain nurse prescribed for my back. 10. Having a washer and dryer in my apartment, on the first floor. 11. My weight loss surgery. 12. My psychiatrist and Dr. Barrett who have helped me so much. 13. My Ladies Bible Study is starting back up on Thursday night. 14. My ability to walk without the need of the walker. I hope you are able to find some things for which to be grateful. Love, Trish

Hi Karen,

This is exactly why I started doing my regular gratitude lists.  So many times, I caught myself taking the little things for granted.  Yet, when I make my gratitude lists, I am forcing myself to examine the little things and acknowledge where they come from, the Lord's generous love for me.

Hugs,
Trish

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights.

How often do we just accept the good things that happen to us without ever thinking about where they come from? I know I'm as guilty as anyone else. However like James said in this scripture we KNOW where all our gifts and good things in life come from. Remember to thank our Heavenly Father for all the wonderous things He does for us!

God bless!
Karen

I sent another gratitude list to my mentor, Ruth.  It could be longer, but my shoulder is hurting, and I didn't want to spend too much time typing it.

  1. My heating pad. 2. My fleece robe. 3. My Diet Coke, which is helping my stomach feel better. 4. My gas heater. 5. My prescription plan, which paid a little over $20,000 toward my medications. I paid a little over !,000 in 2011. 6. My dog, who keeps me company each day. Plus, he keeps me from feeling lonely and sorry for myself. 7. My family, especially my kids and the Munchkins. 8. My salvation. 9. God’s daily provision of all of my needs. 10. My leg is healing well. 11. I can afford to see my doctors, especially the specialists.   love you, trish
