I'll pray for you if you'll pray for me. I saw my neurologist today and have neuropathy in my feet and my hands have a strange signal during the eletrical test. She ordered some more blood work not sure what she's looking for I was too tired to ask. I see her again in a month and will find out more then. As far as I know I'm not diabetic so not sure what else causes neuropathy, guess I'll know more later on. Like you I'm blessed with a great group of docs and insurance so I'm thankful for that.

Well, I just had a tooth pulled. I was lousy at dental hygiene for a long time, and now I am paying the piper. I'll be getting a partial plate, because it was the third tooth in the back on the same side on the bottom.
Monday, the 25th, I will be having sinus surgery and my nose fixed. I broke my nose on December 30th. That was the day I got the injury to my leg that put me in the hospital for two weeks in January. The doc thinks when I broke my nose, the blood drained into my lower sinus cavities. They have been infected pretty much everyday since then.
Then a week later, I have to have surgery to remove a suspicious mole, and several tumors in both of my arms.
I'm still waiting to hear from my hematologist's office, because I am on Coumadin, ever since I had a pulmonary embolism in 2010, and I have a clotting disorder. To protect me from getting another clot, I have to inject myself with Lovenox, which is another type of anticoagulant, which is safe to take during the five days before I have any surgical procedure, including getting a tooth pulled.
Well, I have to scoot. I covet your prayers. I once was told I have a lot on my plate, health wise. I just give God the glory for providing me with good health insurance and good doctors.
Hugs,
Trish

Well you can't force her to change so it may be time to let her go and maybe try to find someone else to mentor. You have alot of great knowledge to share and there is no sense in "sowing pearls before swine" either. If all she wants is a pat on the head and a venting board, you don't need that. She obviously isn't ready to make changes in her life and may never be. So help someone who is really and actively seeking a better life.
Oh I swear computers will be the death of me. I'm so grateful hubby is a geek even if he did kill the system the other day. I'm hoping my refurbished puter is ready soon. I still try to peek in here every day just can't always respond.

Karen,
I'm so glad you posted this. Now, I know how to pray more specifically about what is happening with you.
I have had some stuff transpire with the woman I had been mentoring. Long story short, she did not like that I rebuked her about her continued behavior with her husband. We argued back and forth, with me quoting Scripture, and basically the outcome is that she dropped me as her mentor as a believer. Then, she said she just wanted me as a friend who she could vent to about her family. I told her I did not want to hear her complain about her family. I told her if she did that with me, I would stop her, because I did not want to hear her complain about her family all the time. Well, she blocked both my house number and my cell phone number on her cell phone. She does not answer her house phone, nor does she listen to its messages.
Her behavior does not surprise me at all. My therapist suggested that I not take her back as someone I would be mentoring, nor as a friend. She is emotionally compromised between her mental health diagnoses, and addictions. She twists things and is very manipulative.
Thanks for praying.
Hugs,
Trish

I'm gonna be off and on for awhile, dear hubby ran over our internet cable with the lawn mower and once we got that fixed I've had nothing but trouble with my 'puter. Also I think my mother board is going bad so I never know if or when I can get on and for some reason OH isn't allowing me to post responses. Sometimes it works and others no way so I'm still around and can read you but you just may not be able to get a response from me. Hopefully hubby will have a refurbished computer for me soon and I'll be back in business. So know if you ask for prayer I'll be on it, just may not be able to respond to you.
God bless!

Topic: Counting Blessings
A while back, I started a gratitude list here almost on a daily basis, and let it lapse. I thought I would start it again, to generate an opportunity for everyone to post on the Lord's blessings each day. Doing it always helped me change my perspective on each day, and to see the Lord's hand in our daily lives. Up until I was challenged to do it years ago, I felt isolated from the Lord, feeling He had no interest in what was going on in my day to day life. So, here's mine.
1. I had a blast in Baltimore yesterda, even though my Phillies lost in the 10th inning due to an error. It was a long, hot day. My son got us tickets 17 rows behind the Phillies dugout. This was a belated Mothers Day gift from him. He tries to take me for Mothers Day every year.
2. Even though it was wickedly hot, and we were in the sun all day, I did not get dehydrated, or sick from the heat.
3. Even though I came down with the shingles yesterday, it was not as bad a case as it could have been.
4. Because I came down with the shingles, I had to postpone my surgery, from last Monday to Monday, the 25th. If I had the surgery last week, I would not have been up to going to Baltimore yesterday.
5. I have been able to be more assertive setting boundaries with the woman I am mentoring.
6. Even though I have not been able to exercise as I would like, I was able to walk long distances yesterday, with only mild discomfort when I got home.
7. I am no longer feeling lonely living alone, and I never dreamed I would be able to say that ten years ago when I was going through my divorce.
8. My kids have forgiven me, and include me in their lives, even though my mental health issues caused their childhoods to be chaotic and frightening at times.
9. I have the means to pay for medical insurance, good insurance.
10. I was able to resign from the psych hospital because of my chronic attendance issues because of my health, and my supervisor was totally understanding.
Please share your blessings with us. It took me many years to see these things I listed as from God.
Hugs to all,
Trish

It is so sad to think there are thousands of people who live that way and suffer from enormous guilt because of it, when the truth is it is as easy as believing and having faith! We have the priveledge of doing good because we want to, to be more like Christ, rather than out of guilt.
Such a difference the change of attitude makes. Have a great weekk end and enjoy the game with your son this week!

Hi Karen,
I was raised Catholic, and grew up doing penance for my sins, lighting candles and praying for relatives that died, doing the Stations of the Cross, and praying on my rosary beads, whi*****luded saying the "Hail Mary" and repetitive prayer.
When I left the Catholic church during my senior year of high school, I could not shake the urge to do good stuff to make up for my bad stuff, sins. I really struggled for years, and did not really get complete freedom from the works mentality till I was discipled by my friend, Ruth. And it took her a long time to get it through my thick head. The beauty part of truly believing that Truth helped free me from a ton of habitual sins.
This is a great topic.
Hugs,
Trish

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved." Yes folks it's that easy. I find it so sad that many people think you have to work your way to Heaven or sacrifice to get there, but nope it's as easy as believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again. Then the journey begins, then we start our life of trying to live as He would have us live. We are only human and will mess up but we are already forgiven because of Jesus' sacrifice. Some of us will spend the rest of our lives trying to do the right thing and others will get no further than just accepting His gift of salvation. Either way we are still saved and will join Him in Heaven when our day comes. "Believing Christ died-that's history; believing Christ died for me-that's salvation." Enjoy your weekend folks!
God bless!

So true! I believe it's up to us to decide how we are going to deal with difficult times. We can either whine and moan or we can look for the lesson and hope to grow in our walk with God. I have a nurse that everytime she sees me comments on how I'm always in a good mood even when I should be miserable and I tell her the same thing, I choose to be content wherever I'm at.
