Hi and welcome to the Christianity forum.  We can use all the fellowship and love you have to offer.  We are a small, but loving group.  Jump in and share your prayer needs and your journey with the Lord with us.

Hugs,
Trish

I have a huge prayer request for my daughter.  She is struggling in her teaching job in a small school district in Michigan.  She believes her principal is out to get her, and hates teaching there.  She wants to teach in Pennsylvania and move back here, but can't find a teaching job at this point.  She wants to come home for Spring Break this weekend.  Her husband is being hedgy about committing to come with her, and it is an 11 hour drive from there to here, with a 3 year old and 20 month old in the car.  I offered to fly out there and drive with her, or give her some money to fly with the kids.  All she could do was cry on the phone with me last night.

Please pray that the Lord open up a door for her to teach here, and move her family out here.  Her husband does contracting work, and has trouble finding a job in Michigan, where the unemployment rate is something like 15%.  He has trouble finding work, because of the poor economy there.

My praise is that my foot is healing a little each day, and I am grateful for even the tiniest improvements.

Thanks,
Trish

Our Standard of Measure

Luke 6:30-38

Today I want you to think about your interactions with others in terms of filling up a bucket and pouring its contents onto those people. With that in mind, let’s consider two important factors.

First of all, what’s in your bucket? Jesus points out a number of things that we can choose to pour out on others—namely, material possessions, love, good deeds, money, mercy, and pardon. It’s quite an impressive list. And yet, the Lord calls His followers to an even higher standard. He instructs us to give to “takers," love our enemies, do good to those who mistreat us, lend expecting nothing in return, and grant mercy and pardon to those who don’t deserve it.

Why would He call us to such extreme action? Because as God’s children, we are expected to treat others the way He treats them—for “He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men" (v. 35).

The second factor to consider is the size of our bucket. Jesus says that by our standard of measure, it will be measured back to us (v. 38). However, we are alsotold to expect nothing in return from those we treat with kindness (v. 35). The ultimate reward for our loving and gracious behavior will come, not from them, but from the Most High God.

What are you pouring onto others each day? By showering them with grace, you display the character of your Father and show yourself to be His child. Use a big bucket full of love and kindness, and you’ll discover
that the Lord uses an even bigger bucket to lavish His goodness upon you.

Welcome, welcome it's so good to see new faces and see God working slow but sure to rebuild this forum. It has been virtually dead until the first of the year when I just felt God urging me to start posting and get this place up and going again. It may take awhile but everyday I see growth, praise God.

Woohoo 2 new faces in one day, I'm excited!!!! I really would love to see this forum take off like it was when I first started coming here.It was busy nearly everyday with sharing of praises and lots of prayer requests and just sharing God's love. That's why I stepped in and started posts again, then Trish started helping with posts too, she was here when I started 3 years ago. So far it's been mostly the 2 of us but we love new folks and any input they might have. Feel free to ask or post anything that will uplift our brothers and sisters! God bless and visit often!

Father we come to you in the Mighty Name of Jesus, we ask that you would place a hedge of protection around this family as they have gone through many difficulties. Lord Your Word says. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
Isaiah 43:2 When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. ( NLT )
Father I pray that you would open moms eyes , Lord help her to see the stress she is putting on Kelly's Health and Life, Father we pray for understanding on her husband and children's behalf. Father we know you are in control and Kelly's surgery will come in Your time and not ours. We know there is a reason You are allowing her to go through all this and we pray for a quick resolution to it. Father we just thank and praise you for all you are going to do in this families life. Father I thank you for the Faith and Trust You have given Kelly and I thank You for all the wonderful people who are praying for this situation. Father we Love and Praise You and we ask of all this in the Mighty Name Of Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior.. AMEN!

Hello,
I just found your forum and was very excited and blessed to see it.
I praise God for this site the forum and the ability He has given us to communicate with believers who are in the situations as one another. I have a Praise report. I am 3 weeks post op Lap Band and I am down 32 pounds since surgery. Thank you Lord for being by my side and taking this journey with me. I pray for all those who are having difficulty with their surgeries and I lift up to you Father, those who want the surgery  and for one reason or another can not have it done. I pray that they will find comfort in You and those who are available on this and other forums. I pray all this in the Mighty Name Of Jesus... AMEN & AMEN

Well how's everyone today? We need more posters, it's too quiet here! I don't have any particular prayer requests or praises today so I'll just thank the good Lord I'm here and reasonably healthy! God bless! Karen
