What about taking communion?

Is the little piece of bread ok to take when you are on liquids pre and post op? Kim M.

I did 2 days pre-op with no problem. It is such a small amount it won't really affect the liquid diet. More than that might give you a tummy ache if you have been compliant, but communion should be fine. Heidi L-S

I want to say I was about 3 weeks post op when I took communion for the first time. I know I was still on pureed foods. I was fine. I just chewed and chewed until the bread liquefied in my mouth. By non-PhD opinion: If your doing it for God, you'll be fine no matter what!!! Dawn

Hi Kim. I had a leak and couldn't eat anything for awhile. I took communion several times by just touching it to my lips. peace, Glenn
