Need Prayer Please

Hi y'all. I am asking for prayer because...I have surgery on Wednesday. I have begun my pre-op all liquid high protein, low/no carb shake diet. I only started yesterday. Today at lunch I was gagging down the shake. I don't mind the flavor and they actually don't 'smell' really bad. I know it's just in my mind. I need prayer that I can do this. I have to eat these shakes for the next 3 weeks at least and may need them from now on so that I get my protein. You all know what I am talking about. I just feel like I am only 1 1/2 days into this and already gagging, how in the world will I make it!! I have never been good with liquid meds, I gagged giving my kids cough syrup and dimatapp. (I wasn't even taking it!) Even though the shakes aren't meds I still gag a bit. Just please pray for me. Dearest Robin, You are definately in my prayers. THIS TOO SHALL PASS. Is there a possibility you can get a different flavor of shake? Can you dilute them a little more to make them easier to get down? You can do all things through Christ who strenghthens you. After awhile you will be able to take meds in a capsule again. The liquid meds are while your pouch is new and sensitive. Remember the post op mantra... sip, walk, rest, sip, walk, rest... Thank you Carolyn. I know that I will get through this. God is with me all the way. I seem to be getting down my evening shake just fine. I just need to take smaller sips. I may try diluting them a bit, sounds like a good idea. I'll keep you posted. Love, Robin S.

You obviously (as you admit) are anxious. This anxiety tends to constrict....so take a deep breath and try to relax. I drank Boost and Ensure before surgery and I didn't like them at all. It has taken me awhile to find a protein shake I do like....( World Pure Protein Banana Cream flavor). There are a lot of options.....and remember, your tastes will probably change after surgery.
