4. Yes, our insurance paid for it. We only had to pay around $900 total. I had two surgeries the week that I was in the hospital and the bill came to over $56,000. SO we were very happy with how much our insurance covered. I was approved three days after submitting it to the insurance company.
God bless you all!

Good Morning Suzzette and everybody else! It has been absolutely beautiful here in VA this weekend. I can't believe that it is supposed to be 83 degrees here today and it is MARCH!!!!
1. What is your favorite drink of choice? decaf tea, fresca, cappucino - LOVE IT!
2. Where were you born, and how far away from your birthplace do you
live now?
Edenton, NC - a beautiful historic town. I live about an hour and a half from there now. Most of my family no longer lives there, but I grew up there...spent my entire life there until 1990 when I moved to VA.
3. Name one thing that you are grateful for.
Can't name just one. LOVE, saving grace of God, and my awesome husband and children.
4. Did your insurance pay for your WLS or did you self-pay? How much
trouble did you have with insurance?
I was fortunate to have my surgery paid almost in full. I had already met my catastrophic cap for the year when I had it. I did not have to pay but around $40 for things that were not covered at the hospital, and then of course the program fee of my surgeon's office which was $395. I did not have trouble getting everything done. Luckily, I had chosen tricare standard instead of prime. Had I been a prime patient, things would have been much different. I am incredibly thankful, because I would not have been able to have the surgery otherwise.
Have a great day!
Stephanie
