No Amber I have never had to do that. Sounds like a long time. But I was thinking they would probably need 4 DAYS for me!! lol When is it scheduled? Good luck and God bless!! Candy

Wow. Mine took all of 10 mins. All he did was ask me questions about myself to determine the type of person I am. His job was to make sure the I understood what I was doing, I had realistic goals, and that no one was forcing me to have WLS. Please, let us know why it took 4 hours when you are done. Dawn

Amber, mine was pretty long. After talking with the psychologist, I had to answer a questionnaire with about 500 questions on it. That may be something like what they are doing with you. I can't remember how long it took me to answer all those questions, but it did take a long time. Shel

The first Dr. I went to required a psych eval and mine took 3-4 hours becuse I did the same questionaire that had about 500 questions. It is not unusual for psych evals to be that long. The Dr. that finally did my surgery did not even require me to have a psych eval! Blessings, Carolyn

As a Social Worker, I can tell you that you are probably being asked to complete an MMPI (Minneapolis Multi-Phasic Inventory). It will flag the interpreter of any mental health issues surrounding your surgery. It will help avoid long-term failure of the WLS. (Issues that should rule out your readiness include: addictions, being forced to do the surgery by someone else, psychosis, depression, or other major mental health issues.) Hope this helps.
