Spiritual reservations
Hello Luvitsunny,
I guess it's not a question for any other surgery because this the one that some of us are facing right now. I do also believe that by having this surgery is the way God want to deliver me from this awesome burden.
; if I don't have it, it will be just as serious as having to have a cardiac bypass surgery, if it hadn't gotten to that point already.
No it wasn't sin to have your gall bladder removed if it needed to come out. It would be stupid to keep something that will infect the rest of the body. I haven't found anywhere in the bible where it says surgery is a sin, but it does say guttony is.
Yes you are so right, satan is trying to create holes in my faith, but he has failed. Even though he bring thoughts to our mind we don't have to entertain them. I know God wants me healed. Thank you for your encouragement. I cherish all of ya'll comments.

luvitsunny, this really makes sense to me. I had never thought about it like that before.
I do believe that over eating or putting food before God is a sin. But I also agree that surgery is used to help save lives and this one certainly does. Thank you always for you thoughts and comments, I am listening!

I truly love luvitsunnyv's response. We never question other surgeries. I believe that we have to kick the devil in the teeth and let him know that there is therefore now NO, let me repeat, NO condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus. Perfection is not something any of us have the ability to achieve, even as Christians. I like what Dawn said about we are working TOWARD the goal. We must not allow satan to condemn us. He is under our feet, in Jesus Name. I too struggle with listening to the lies of the devil. I must remind myself constantly that I am a child of the most high God. He loves me. He is making me more than a conqueror, even with surgery. I believe that God has prepared my steps before me and allowed surgery to happen for me.
Be encouraged Sisters! Jesus loves you and me.
Love in Christ

Hello everyone,
I was sitting here thinking about the response from everybody and even the people and bad spirits that prompted this question. The Lord brought to my remembrance especially after Sunny's response, that a few week ago I had a lump removed from my breast,(praise God it wasn't cancerous) and I have a bad disc replaced in my neck with a good one; I had a partial hysterectomy, (if I hadn't I may have bleed to death) I even had a tubligation,(It was against my health to have anymore kids) So I did what I had to to be in better health. So I'm doing whats best for me still.

I agree that you can probably trace most surgery to some type of sinful living because we are "born in sin and shaped in iniquity". Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit and we all misuse them in one way or another.
Our loving Father planned us before the foundation of the world and knew us... He knew we would struggle with morbid obesity and also gave the medical community the knowlege to alleviate our suffering.
We also have genetic weaknesses that add to our sinful natures. I believe the surgery is God's provision for a healthier life. It is not a panacea. We still have to work with a lifestlye change. It is not a quick fix. We still have to discipline ourselves, especially the further we get post op.
Blessings,
Carolyn
