Well not much has changed, but there is some good news. He made it through the first 48 hours, which is far better then the doctors had planned. They told my brother and I that they could only guess that he had a 20% chance to live, but they were really shotting high. No one expected him to live through the night. The nurses have been turning down his O2 and he has been breathing on his own. He has shown some signs of brain activity, but not alot due to fact that he is so sedated. Today they installed a trach and a feeding tube and once they are sure that everything is good they wil start taking him off of the sedation, but they will leave him on the pain med. The doctor said that he will be on the ventilator for at least 2 weeks so to give his lung time to heal. He could easily end up in the hospital for at least 2 months. After he gets out of the hospital he will have to go to rehab for the trach. It is going to be a long slow road, but I am here for the long haul. Thank you all for your prayers and thought and please continue to pray every day. Not just for my father, but for your fathers and mothers and every one in your life. God bless all of ya'll and have a great day. Ken
