Tuesday Roll Call
Good afternoon all!
Long time no see Cynthia! Happy Birthday Shel! Enjoy your day! I am taking the day off to get a few things done that I had been putting off. It is so nice to be home for a change. It reminds me of those early days after surgery when all I had to focus on was eating, drinking and walking. Now work and kids and life are just sucking up all my time. I miss talking to you guys everyday. I hope you are all doing well.
Have a great day!
Love, Jacinda
Hi Cynthia. I am praying for you as you start your women's group. That is so exciting! I have been asked to start a small group in our church. I think it will be a couple's group. I will not be leading the group but rather be encouraging those to join it. I'm more into the hospitality side of it.
There were so many good ideas shared here. I hope you all don't mind if I "borrow" some of them!
It is a beautiful, chilly, sunny day here in the Portland area. We have been inundated with rain, rain, rain for weeks, so I think eveyone's spirits are really soaring around here today.
Do any of you log into the Discovery Health Channel log site? I was reading today about "Binge Eating Disorders." It listed the symptoms and consequences. It talked about having your health care provider do bloodwork to assess things. Here is what it said:
"?B12 and folic acid intake assessment -- because of the important role folic acid and the B complex vitamins play in the onset of depression and anxiety. Lack of B12 and folic acid can lead to, or be caused by problems with the metabolism of protein, carbohydrates and fat, and with the body's ability to absorb nutrients."
I was really struck by what it said about depression and anxiety. I have been struggling lately with both, and I am now wondering if maybe I am getting low in my B vitamins and/or folic acid. Boy, I'm going to make sure I do NOT miss my daily vitamins! It is a good reminder to make sure we are staying on top of how we feel and how we are absorbing all the vitamins and nutrients we need. I see my PCP the end of March, and I will be real interested to see what my levels reveal. Just thought I'd share.
God bless you all, and I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday.
Love,
Peg

HI everyone!! Happy Birthday Shel!!!!
The ladies in my church are having a tea party on Saturday. We are all to invite someone not from the church. They often have yard sales to raise money for the Mothers memorial.
I fell in the shower today. It was pretty scary. I am bruised and my bottom hurts. Feels like I pulled my neck also. You can imagine I would fall hard.
But I am not broken nor was I knocked out so that is a blessing.
I pray you are all doing well. God bless you~ Candy
Hi Cynthia,
I also agree that the Beth Moore studies are wonderful, and several of them come with a video series. I really like them because they are thought provoking on how to apply each principle to my own life, not just look up the scripture & fill in the blank.
As part of our womens ministries, we collect used womens clothing and accessories & have a clothing give away day. No strings attached. So many of us have clothes in our closets that we do not wear. How wonderful would it be to let it be a blessing to someone else.
Reminds me of Sunday's sermon:
We had a guest speaker for Missions Faith Promise Sunday. She said she went on a mission trip to Cuba with her husband. Before they left, they found people who were about their size and gave all the clothing they had packed for their trip to the man and woman. When the man opened the bag of clothes and found a crisp white dress shirt, he shouted, "It's a Miracle!!"
He had prayed for 6 months for God to give him a white dress shirt to preach the gospel in. His miracle came in a white shirt. He kept shouting, "Life is so good!!"
Wow! I am so blessed!!
I pray God's blessings on your womens ministry. I pray for a spirit of unity among all who are a part of the ministry. May God be glorified in all that is said and done as a part of your ministry. I pray that the Lord will ignite a spirit of Evangelism among all who attend. Most of all, I pray that you will all love one another.
God bless you!
