Tuesday Roll Call

Good morning friends. I want to wish everyone a peaceful and blessed day. I have been asked, along with three other ladies, to begin a Womens Ministry in my church. My church is 1 year old this month, praise God. We are growing by leaps and bounds. Any suggestions out there for successful womens ministries? I'm going to ask God to lead me in this endeavor and try to do what HE wants for our church family. I've been drawn to Colossians 1:10 "we pray this in order that you may live a life that is worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God." Also Colossians 2:6&7 which says, "so then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Good morning Cynthia, Our women's group involves four aspects: Worship - Bible study and Sharing Service - Actively involved in community. We get involved with MADD, White Ribbon Campaign against *****graphy, support Domestic Violence Shelters, etc., Education - We have had outside speakers on healthcare, getting degrees from GED's to Masters, make-up demonstrations, mammogram screenings....it's unlimited. Fellowship - We all just decide to have fun, share dinner, a movie... We did these activities one each per month, and planned them quarterly with two people in charge. Twice a year we planned a ladies' weekend...we might go to a show, out of town shopping, the beach, etc. I am so happy that your church is growing. Cynthia, It is great that your church is growing like that. That is truly awesome. I go to Ladies' Bible Study on Wednesday mornings. Right now we are doing a Beth Moore study and it is great. We take time for prayer requests and just to talk also. I really enjoy going. It gives me a way to get to know some of the ladies in our community, because not everyone that comes goes to our church. Today is my birthday. I'm 39 years young. I'm not sure what I will do today, but I honestly don't want to just sit around the house either. Anyway, everyone have a blessed day today!! Love, Shel

Hi Cynthia, and all Thats great that your church is growing and the women's ministry will be a great asset. I want to come...and I want to go to Sunny's and Dawn's as well Loved the scripture and I am overflowing with thankfulness today for all the wonderful things the Lord is to me (and each of us who have invited him into our lives). I thought Sunny's women's group activities sounded really good. Well-rounded and covering so many areas. As a small, new group you probably would not be able to do all those things at first but maybe your could. Even 2 or 3 people meeting together could be involved in worship, study, fellowship etc... praying for each others families and the childrens school etc. My Ladies Bible class is a Sunday School but also like a small group in that we meet together outside the church as well. One thing we do in our class is agree with each other that needs and prayer requests shared in the class do not go anywhere else and not talked about outside our group (unless the person initiating the request shares with others).
