Today's Questions: 1. Do you think you will have surgery done to remove excess skin? I am planning on it. I don't know how I will get the money, I am sure it is vanity, but I have lost the weight before and was horrified with what my breasts looked like that was 20 years ago. I am preparing myself for the vision now I have one friend who EVERY SINGLE TIME we talk she inquires about what I am going to do about my excess skin. It used to be that people only wonder what we looked like unclothed. Now thanks to the plastic surgery programs on TV. The whole world has seen what someone looks like after WLS!! It is starting to be a sensitive issue. I am hoping that I can come up with the right words to my friend so that she won't bring it up again. You guys are cool!! I feel like I can share without shame here. 2. How do you feel about those having this surgery? Is it vanity or a health issue? Some of both, 100 lbs overweight is a lot of weight no matter what. 3. How many people are there in your life that you feel DO NOT support you in your WLS decision or journey? A few, I have the response, "You are not big enough" How can I illustrate this. If your hand was severed at the wrist, how much would it hurt? Would the pain be greater as if your arm was severed at the elbow. PAIN IS PAIN. I am a great respector other people's pain. Their loss, their divorce, their lost dreams, their precious handicaped child. 4. How many people are there in your life that you feel DO support you in your WLS decision or journey? I have had a lot of people support me, most of all I have felt God's blessing and green light and that's enough for me!! This website has been HUGE in blessing me. God bless you!!! 5. What was the final thing that made you decide to have WLS? I went to a lecture by this awesome dynamic christian speaker who said stop dieting, just expend more calories then you consume. I bought the $75 pedometer and started logging all my calories and my excercise. I ate far less then I excercised. I gained weight. I was ready and never looked back or questioned it. Thanks for the roll call. God Bless your journey today, J.Marie
