Very happy day
Hello to everyone! I am happy to be alive and feeling much better knowing that I won't overeat today. I don't miss that bloated feeling at all! I also love that I don't have to buy wide width shoes just because my feet were puffy and swollen all day. I'm starting to wear more fashionable clothes and I even wore a belt today, first time in probably 8 years. My weight loss is slowing down, but I am ok with that. I know that exercise and continued proper eating will keep things moving eventually. I sprained my knee last week and still have pain at night so please say a little prayer for me...I hope the sprain heals but if the pain persists I have to get some tests done to see if I tore something. I got very angry at the setback but then I knew Satan was loving that so I keep moving in moderation and don't let this set me back.
I have a friend who is helping me out with journaling and giving me feedback on some emotional issues involved with weight loss. She noted last night 'could my fear be that maybe, just maybe, this time I am faced with the reality that I am losing weight, reaching that goal that for so long I was convinced that I could not attain'. I used to have such confusion over the sabotage I invoked on myself with dieting and then bingeing, but the reality is that some of us really are scared of reaching that goal and doing all those great things we want to do without the weight. This surgery takes courage, and thank God we have the ultimate source of strength to get through this. Without Him and friends like OH messageboard, it would be too difficult.
I know surgeons differ on prescribed medications but I'm curious what some of you are taking for daily supplements, particularly calcium (and the qty). I take 2 multivitamins, 1 b12/iron supplement with intrinsic value for absorbtion, and 1 calcium.
Blessings to all,
Cynthia S.
Cynthia,
You are so blessed to have such a friend to help you with your journaling and who gives you such great feedback. I will pray that your fears are conquered In Jesus Name. You have nothing to fear becaue perfect love, Jesus, casts out fear. You deserve to have the life you have always wanted without the weight. Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing. I am praying that the Lord will bless me with some good friends soon. We moved to another state and I don't make friends easily. No matter how much I put myself out there I feel that I am not getting to know anyone.
God bless you.

Cynthia,
first for you question: I take 1 adult chewable vitamin, 1 B12 that desolves under my tongue, and 1 caltrate chewable calcium & vitamin D. I'm trying my best with the protein supplements but I'm not even getting close to 60 grams a day. I bought a bottle of isopure today at GNC, that has 40 grams.
I'm feeling you on the emotional part of WLS. It's almost as though this "reason why not" we have held on to for so long is disapearing. For me, I have used obesity as a "reason why" I can't get a good job, or a "reason why" I don't want to go outside in the summer. It's almost scary to think that I can't fall back on those same excuses anymore.
Love,
Dawn
sounds like you are doing good and addressing emotional issues as well as physical. My opinion on that is very much shaped by what I have read in C S Lewis writings. My understanding of what he says is this: we are new creatures in Christ yet living still in our adamic body and still dealing with things we inherited, or shaped by our earlier life experiences etc... we have the Holy Spirit to help us deal with these things but it is usually a process and not a quick miraculous fix (altho that should never be ruled out as impossible---just not the method the Lord normally uses) And I think the scripture teaches this in various passages.
I just had a full set of labs done and all were great. For supplements I take a chewable kids vitamin twice a day, take liquid sublingual B12 three times a week, one tender iron (chewable)daily and take a chewable Vit C with the iron. take a tablespoon of liquid calcium citrate (Tropical Oasis brand---very good!) So far this regimen is working for me!
Hi Cynthia! I am so happy for you and the success that you are having! I have already said a prayer for your knee! Your questions: I take 3 Centrum Chewable Adult Vitamins daily; 2 chewable vitamin C tablets daily; 2 S.F. chocolate calcium chews every evening; 1 Biotin tablet daily; 1 B-1 tablet (250 mg) once a week; 2 B-12 (Sublingual) 500 mcg once a week; and daily 20 grams of whey chocolate protein powder in 24 oz of 1% milk.
Have a great day! Love you!
