Please pray for me tomorrow, Feb 1st, as we have to put my baby girl kitty, Smokey, down. She has gotten to where she cannot control her bladder anymore, and she is 12 years old. She is like my child, and I am just torn up over this. Please pray for God's peace and that I can get through this. Love, Deborah

Deborah, first off I want to say that your picture looks great. You look so beautiful! I will be praying for you. Putting down a pet is so very hard. I can totally understand. When Paul and I first got married we got a dog from the pound. He was part chow and part golden retriever and he was our baby. He lived to be 12 years old also. He had hip dysplasia and got to the point that he couldn't get up anymore. It was so very hard on us. He was our first baby. We buried him in the back yard of where we lived in Alabama. When we moved from there it made me cry all over again, because I felt like I was leaving him. Isn't that silly?! Anyway, I just want you to know that I can understand fully what you are going through right now. I will pray that God does give you peace. Love, Shel

Deborah, I am so sorry you are faced to make a life and death decison for what had come to be family member. Just try to praise God that is option is available for her. You will be taking her out of pain and discomfort. Matthew 11:28 "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (american standard version) Psalms 55:22 "Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." (NKJV) Love, Dawn

Deborah, Our pets do become our children, don't they! I will be praying for you tomorrow. I pray the Lord will help your sadness and be a comfort to you. I pray that Smokey will go to her rest comfortably and peacefully. The Lord God is with you Deborah. He cares about every aspect of our lives, every little one! Love, Robin S.

Thanks so much everyone. It is very hard for me. I have been reading scripture and also the verses about God consoling us in our grief. I also have been researching about pets in Heaven. While I know there is no definite scripture, I have always believed that because the Bible was written for the redemption of man, animals don't need to be redeemed, and that the Lord created them for our pleasure and His. I just believe that I will see her again, but giving her up is tough. Love you all very much, thanks so much! God Bless you all, Deborah

I believe Jesus is with us in our grief whether we lost a person or a pet. I have been told animals do not go to heaven because they do not have a soul but I have never seen that in scripture and wish I had challenged the notion and asked for scripture references. Personally, I enjoy the saying, "If dogs don't go to heaven, then when I die I want to go where they go...." The one thing of which I am ABSOLUTELY is that when we get to heaven there will be no more pain, no more sorrow. And to those who say animals don't go to heaven...The lion shall lay down with the lamb....and a little child shall lead them if the lion and the lamb are to be there, then surely our pets will be too (I realize lion and lamb are figurative but then so are pets). gloria
