***TUESDAY ROLL CALL***
Hello All~
I hope everyone had a blessed Monday yesterday. Since I am home all the time now, my days seem to blend into one another. I'm excited about today though, because I get to go to the doctors. I have my fingers crossed that these staples will come out today. They are really starting to itch!
QOD:
1. For some reason a lot of people pay close attention in church every Sunday just to come home and have no idea what the message was. The enemy has a way of causing enough distraction that we simply forget. How many of you can remember what Sunday's message was about?
2. What is your eye color?
3. Do you need corrective lenses?
4. What year did you graduate high school? If you had a class reunion since your WLS, did you go and what was the response of your classmates?
***my answers***
1. He preached out of John about how to distribute what we have. He really focused on finances.
2. hazel
3. YES. I am legally blind! I wear contacts at a strength of -5.5.
4. 1997. Not yet. I have my 10 year coming up and I am anxious about it though.
Love,
Dawn
Hello Dawn! Not much going on here. Just waiting on someone to upload some dictation so I can work. Hubby has gone to Arkansas to go rabbit hunting with his brother. He will be back on Thursday. I bet those stitches will come out. Mine only stayed in one week.
QOD:
1. Actually, we had a fifth Sunday meal and I helped set up the fellowship hall and get all the food set out. I didn't get to hear the sermon.
2. I guess my eyes are hazel, either that or green.
3. No, not yet.
4. I graduated in 1985. I went to the ten year reunion but I was big at that time. I did not get to go to the 20 year because they had it in October and we now live in GA. I graduated high school in Arkansas. I can not believe it has been 20 years!!!
I got to have lunch with Becky P. She is new to the board and lives in Valdosta. I was so thrilled to meet someone who is having the surgery. There just aren't many in this area. Anyway, we had a great time. She asked lots of questions and I tried to answer as best I could. She is having some type of foot surgery today so if you think about her, say a prayer. She is scheduled for WLS on February 20th. I'm really excited for her. She is just a wonderful Godly woman.
Anyway, have a blessed day!
Shel
1.How many of you can remember what Sunday's message was about?
I can. the Pastor talked about stinking our noses into other people buisness. If we are busy taking care of our own lives, we won't have time to worry about anyone elses life.
2. What is your eye color?
Hazel
3. Do you need corrective lenses?
Not any more. Once I started losing weight, my eyes got better.
4. What year did you graduate high school? If you had a class reunion since your WLS, did you go and what was the response of your classmates?
1988 and no I haven't had a reunion since surgery. I don't want to go to the next one, but my wife wants me to go. it's coming up in a couple of years, maybe I will change my mind.
Hi Dawn, hope you can get those staples out soon! I had a zipper like that too so I know that you are ready to see them gone! They replaced mine with steristrips that just stayed on a few more days (even through showers) and finally fell off.
1. Guilty. I have had a few times when I could not tell you a few days later what the Sunday sermon was about. This Sunday my husband went alone because (I confess) I ate something on Saturday that had me feeling bad the rest of the day. I felt good again after I got up and got around on Sunday but I had already missed going to church.
2. brown eyes
3. I wear either contac lenses or glasses. I want to have laser surgery like my son did but just have not decided to spend the money on it. Plus then I would probably have to wear corrective lenses for reading and close up stuff where as now I have great vision for close up....
4. Graduated in '67. I keep in touch with two friends from high school days but never particularly wanted to attend a reunion. I had my own form of 60's rebellion. My picture is not in any high school annuals nor did I attend any high school functions. totally hated high school (loved college though, odd huh?)
Good Morning Dawn and Everyone!
What a glorious day!! I feel so fantastic today! I skiied in Jackson Hole in 8" of powder for over 4 hours yesterday and nothing hurts today! Thank you Lord for this surgery! It was so fun to be back in my old stomping grounds! I love the ski resorts here in Utah but the beautiful Tetons will always be my favorite!
I am still praying for you, Dawn, and like I have said, things will get better and better. I am only 3 1/2 months out and I feel like I am a completely different person! WLS is such a struggle but I have noticed that even the majority of people who go through a horrible time would do it again in a heart beat! Take courage! I love you lots!
Answers to today's questions:
1. For some reason a lot of people pay close attention in church every Sunday just to come home and have no idea what the message was. The enemy has a way of causing enough distraction that we simply forget. How many of you can remember what Sunday's message was about?
I didn't go to church on Sunday - first time I have missed in a long time - we were on our way to Jackson Hole. My family had a time of prayer and worship though and we all shared what God is doing in our lives - pretty precious time. I do not advocate missing church, however. Do not forsake the assembling. Our family discusses the sermon every Sunday during Sunday lunch and it is amazing how sometimes we all heard something different. God uses the sermon to touch us all individually and then there are times when we all heard the same thing. God is good!
2. What is your eye color? Hazel. My husband has hazel eyes too but all of our children have such dark brown eyes that they are almost black!
3. Do you need corrective lenses? Yes. I am trying the new mono contacts - one eye for reading and one for distance. I have worn contacts for 36 years and just started needing the reading glasses so I am hoping the monos help. I keep hoping that the surgery will make my eyes better too! I am so silly!
4. What year did you graduate high school? If you had a class reunion since your WLS, did you go and what was the response of your classmates? 1976 - Bicentennial year! I haven't heard if we are having a 30 year reunion this summer but I will go if we do. When I went to my grandmother's funeral a few weeks ago there were several old friends there and they just kept commenting on how wonderful I looked - it was cool. I have yet to have one person condemn me for having this surgery but I know that when someone does, all you, my wonderful support system, will hear about it!
I love all of you and pray that God will meet you at your greatest need!
God Bless,
Lynda

1. Our sermon was on "rememberance". Our church is in turmoil. Our Pastor resigned after years of serious clinical depression and we have been shaken to the core, but God is working to redeem what Satan would destroy!
2. Hazel eyes...depending on what color I wear they can look green or gold. My eyes are one of my favorite features.
3. I wear my Dollar Tree magnifyers for "eyes over 40".
4. I graduated in 1979 and was so humiliated by my 100 pound weight gain over the years that I did not attend my 25th reunion. I also was very different in High School, it was before I was saved and I lived like there was no tomorrow...God's grace held me for this time...
