Good Morning Everyone! It has been a while since I posted! So busy! Today is my birthday and I am thanking God for all He has done for me this past year! Over 3 months ago when I had my Lap RNY I told my husband that I would be very pleased if I was down 50 pounds by my birthday..... well, I am down 82 pounds as of yesterday!! Only 12 more to go to get under 200 pounds and 18 to hit the century mark!! I went skiing last night and it was beautiful - the snow was perfect and I skied my heart out and thanked God the whole time! My husband is taking me to Jackson Hole next week for 3 days to ski at Teton Village - I am so excited! It is part of my birthday gift. I am really enjoying the skiing here in Utah though - after all, the last Winter Olyminpics were here and there is skiing all over the place. After church on Sunday they had a birthday party for me at a country club and it was fabulous. I love my brothers and sisters in Christ and my church, they are so loving and supportive of what I have been going through. The pastor's sermon on Sunday was about not being bitter about things that have happened or are happening. That really spoke to my heart because I need to let go of the hurt from the prejudice and rejection I felt in general while I was heavier (many which were my own perceptions!) Questions Today: 1. What was one of your "fat" embarassing moments? 2. Your favorite birthday? 3. Your favorite foods right now. Thank you Lord for all the recent successful surgeries! Dawn, I love you and it was my pleaure to be your angel. I love all of you and pray that God meets you at your greatest need. God Bless, Lynda Phil. 4:8

I must have my head in the clouds again - I forgot to answer my own questions! 1. What was one of your "fat" embarassing moments? I was shopping with my daughters this past weekend and we went to get on the escalator in one of the department stores and I stopped because I remembered a horrifying experience when I was at my heaviest when I stepped on an escalator and I was so heavy that it stopped. I was so embarassed and always have avoided them. But this weekend for the first time I rode it again and thanked God for His mercies. 2. Your favorite birthday? This one! God has used this surgery in my life to give me back my life and I can't believe the miracle it is and I am really celebrating! 3. Your favorite foods right now. Yay! I am now eating meats! Last night after skiing I had roasted turkey and it was delicious!! I really like my protein drink and nuts. Cauliflower is my favorite veggie right now. Love ya all! God Bless, Lynda Phil. 4:8

Hi Peg! I will try and get some on this week. I am not good with this computer technology stuff and I really admire those who are! So I will try and get it figured out. I love you! God Bless, Lynda Phil. 4:8

Hi Lynda! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! Congrats on your success! Keep up the good work. You are doing great! I am so proud of you! QOD 1. Having to ask for the seatbelt extender on airplanes...really embarrassing. 2. My last birthday was a new beginning. I chose to have my WLS surgery on my birthday...literally. So...it was a rebirth for me. I loved the symbolism of it all. I came out of the OR and the staff had decorated me with stickers to celebrate....since I could not have any cake that day. 3. I am really into chicken salad and taco soup right now. Hope everyone is having a great day. Love in Christ, Stephanie

Hi Stephanie, Thank you! We fly alot and I always had to ask for an extender too. So embarassing! My husband usually tried to do it so no one would notice because he knew how humilitating it was for me. At one point I told him I just didn't want to go anywhere and I think that is why is started doing the asking. I can't believe you had surgery on your birthday. What a neat anology of a new beginning - that is so cool. I hope you are feeling better - you have been in my prayers! I love you! God Bless, Lynda Phil. 4:8

Hi Lynda and Steph (and all the rest of you darling friends)~ I am doing better every day. But, today is kind of a yucky day. FEMALE reasons, not surgery - thank God!! Things are going pretty well around here. I am driving finally and that is a HUGE boredom buster. As for the QOTD~ 1. What was one of your "fat" embarassing moments? I was on a trip to NYC with two girlfriends and we narrowly missed the subway. They were frustrated because we were already late and they wanted everyone to RUN...well, I couldn't and so I was the reason we were late. 2. Your favorite birthday? My 30th. It was celebrated with friends and family! 3. Your favorite foods right now. mandarin oranges mixed with bananas/grapefruit/yogurt

Hi Lynda. I'm so glad you posted roll call today. I have been pretty much off the computer the past few days, so I had a lot of "catch up" reading to do. Roll Call is one of my favorites. Hi everybody! I have a BIG praise today! I have been waiting to post to make sure it wasn't a fluke, but I don't think it is. I have finally reached ONEderland! I weighed in at 199 lbs this morning! I was there a couple of days ago too, but it didn't stick and bounced up 1 and 1/2 lbs. It has been slowly inching down 1/2 lb a day, so I am going to NAME IT AND CLAIM IT today! Thank you, Lord Jesus! First it was the 207 lb barrier, and then it was the 203 lb barrier, and then it was the 200 lb barrier. I am on my way down! Thank you all so much for your prayers. I'm working on making small changes and having this truly be a lifestyle change. My doctor and I set 170 lbs as my goal weight. He wanted 160, but I held out for 170. I haven't been at this weight for 25 years, so I'm having to get used to the new me. My husband asked if I like wearing smaller clothes...silly boy! The other answer to prayer is that I have now slept in my regular bed 3 nights in a row! Again, thank you Lord Jesus, and thank you all who have been praying for me. I just love all of you and continue to lift you all up in prayer. After 5 months of sleeping apart, my DH and I are having to get used to sleeping in the same bed again. When one of us tosses and turns, it wakes the other one up. Almost like we are newlyweds or something! Now on to the QOD's. Questions Today: 1. What was one of your "fat" embarassing moments? I have had many as I'm sure most of us have. I think the first one that has always stuck with me was when I was a young woman in my twenties and was asked if I was pregnant. I also hated it when my boy cousins called me "Piggy Peggy." I still don't like it when someone calls me Miss Peggy. I'm sure they think it is cute, but I can't help thinking of the little pig girlfriend of Kermit the Frog's, "Miss Piggy." 2. Your favorite birthday? This past one on August 30th. It was my 56th one, and I didn't know if I would make it to that one. It was my last full day in the hospital....my 20th day...after this second surgery. Thank you dear Lord, for seeing me through it. 3. Your favorite foods right now. Is frozen coffee a food? I like Chinese really well, and I also like pizza. I just bought a Vita-Mix blender, so I think protein fruit smoothies are soon going to be my favorites! Well, I'm going to sign off for now, but I'll be back to read all your answers. May the Lord keep you in His tender care. Love, Peg

Hi Peg! Congratulations!!! I have been praying for you that the 200 barrier would be crossed! I am praising God with you!! Newlyweds huh? - enjoy!! What a wonderful feeling that must be to sleep in a regular bed again! Thank you Jesus! I guess we have all been taking a few days off! I think we are all feeling for Randall and his children and I know I have been reflecting on how precious life is. I have a Vita Mix too and I love it! You are a precious sister and I love you!! God Bless, Lynda Phil. 4:8
