I got home on Friday late, and we just got settled when the snow we drove 70 miles in, really went to town and stuck. It is bright and white out there this morning! I am doing great, and just had to thank all of you for your prayers and thoughts! I did get online last night, and was going to post, but read of Joie Culpepper's passing, and could not go on, I was so full of sorrow for the family. I really rejoice for Joie, tho, because as Christians we know that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". I will continue to pray for Randall and his dear family as they pass through this valley. My DH can use your prayers! He had a severe allergic reaction to the cats at my daughter's house the second night he was staying there. Cat dander has bothered him in the past, but never to this degree. He awoke at 1 A.M., and couldn't breathe, the only thing he could do was to pack his things and head for home. So at 3A.M. he got home, through all his clothes in the wash, hung his sport jacket outside, and headed to the shower for a de-contaminating shower. Guess he didn't clear enough to get any sleep until 6 or 7 o'clock. I was so glad that my son was staying here, and was able to help. He was still in pretty bad shape yesterday, and had a hard night last night. He just came in here to say good morning, and said he is doing better today. The itch seems to finally to have let up, and his eyes are not so swollen. He has to go back to work on Mon, so I am glad he has another two days to recouperate! I am doing great I think!! I had a box here from Bariatric eating, containing lots of goodies to keep me on the protien road, and a few free samples, too. Tried the Cappucino at 3 o'clock this morning when I couldn't sleep, and was hungary. Really good, and treated my love of coffee!!! Was thirsty later tho, and had to keep sipping water that I had at the bedside. I still run a low grade fever, but nothing to worry about. Dr. says it is more of a reaction to all the extra blood I oozed, and now is trying to get rid of. ( My abdomen is a solid purple from top to bottom, side to side.) Seems I am in good shape with the food and water, as I have not had any trouble with vomiting. An occasional hiccup is painful tho, and it is prob from "sipping" too fast!! Sipping??? What IS that? I gulp, I must confess. Thirsty is something I don"t do well, and will have to work on that, but the water sits ok with me, hot to cold. You know, as I write this, I am so aware if God's provisions for us. I have a dear friend who called me the day before surgery and was distrought about my neck during the surgery, wanting me to be sure that the Dr's knew its fragile state! I asssured her they had been informed, and would be very careful. Well, she bugged my daughter about it, and vowed to be praying the whole time about my neck! So...what should happen, but that there was a big problem there, and two extra Dr's had to be called in, and it took an extra hour to get through it all, and my inner throat was cut up, and has been quite a painful experience there! But think of how God laid it on her heart in such a mighty way as to have her in specific prayer all through the surgery for that issue!! Praise God!! Praise God!! ( am missing a bone in my neck, that is essentially "a broken neck" every day since birth) Really sends the Radiologists off into fits of panic. But I just tell them that God is in charge of my life, and I will die at the appointed time regardless of what they think, and as long as the same God is in control of my life now as was in control when I was knit and formed without that littlle bone , or without hip sockets, than I am in great shape!!! Don't you think so??? This has given me numerous opportunities to witness about God's soverighnty. Oh my, I see that I have posted for much too long. I need to get my profile done. I have it all down on paper, but for some reason have not gotten it onto that site. I promise I will get it there soon. I will have some time now in recovery to get there. Anyway, I am just so happy now to be on tha loosing side, and can hardly believe it happened so quickly!! My love to you all, and prayers on your behalf for a glorious day in Christ!! And thank-you, Peg for being such a great "angel"!! I love you, and will be talking to you soon. Kathy B.
