Asking for Your Help
My son, Robert, is currently working on his Eagle Scout service project. He has chosen to organize and lead a group of volunteers to collect plus-size clothing donations for hurricane survivors as well as those persons in need within our local community.
It was my suggestion that he post this message asking for the help of my friends in the OH messageboards. Robert has committed to collecting 1,000 peices of clothing and he needs your help. All donations must be clean, in new or good condition with no rips or tears. We do not have the capability or funds to make repairs or clean items. We will be accepting/collecting clothing donations until March 1, 2006.
If you, or someone you know, has recently undergone WLS and have plus-size clothes or shoes you would like to donate to a very worthy effort, please contact me at [email protected] to make arrangements for pick up or delivery of your donations. Please include
you a day and evening telephone number where you may be reached.
We will be documenting all aspects of this project, including a photo journal which will be presented as part of his completed write-up.
Robert and I thank you in advance for your kindness and willingness to help make His Eagle Scout Service Project a huge success.

Cara, that is such a great thing....My son was a scout and it was a wonderful experience for the entire family....
I wish I had some XX clothes but unfortunately I don't....
I hope you can get some though from your request. He might check some consignment shops....when they rotate their stock they usually ask the donor if they want their items given to charity or returned to them.
He's a fine young man to do this...
