***Monday's Roll call***
Hello everyone!
I want to Thank each and everyone of you for your prayers last Friday. I posted that my back had been bothering me for almost a week and thanks to your prayers the pain is almost gone. I'm sitting here at work with just very minimal pain and pray for it to be gone completely. THANK YOU so much to all of you.
Lets not forget who is having surgery today!!! Our sweet sister Dawn's day has finally come!! Lets lift her up in prayer. Lets pray for God to work through her surgeons hands and for her to have a speedy recovery with very minimal pain or no pain at all!!. We all know how long she's waited for this day so prayer warriors, please help me pray for her.
I decided to take the courage and do roll call today. Here are some questions I came up with.
1. What makes you come back to the Christianity Message board?
2. What do you usually do on Sundays?
3. Has God created miracles in your life?
4. When was the last time you cried? If so, why?
5. I'm going to post what my sister Peg has posted before, Do you have a prayer request?
Here are my answers.
1.What makes me come back? The LOVE you all show to me and each other. We don't criticize, we encourage and last but not least...we believe in HIM.
2. I usually get up and go buy some breakfast, 2 of my Mexican favorites, barbacoa (beef-we eat in a taco) and Menudo (tripe soup). I know it sounds yucky but both are really good, I didn't do that this weekend and missed it soooo much. Instead I made my kids some scrambled eggs with toast and some oatmeal with splenda. Yeap, I tricked them!!!! *smile* They couldn't even tell the oatmeal had splenda in it!
After breakfast we get ready and go to the morning service. Sometimes I stay for 2 services, the one in English and then the one in Spanish. We did that yesterday and since the 2nd service (Spanish) was only praise and worship (they were recording a CD), my kiddos got tired and begged me to leave, so we did leave after 1 1/2 hours of praising God with beautiful Spanish worship music. After church I usually take my kiddos out to eat and from there to either a movie or home to ride the Go-Kart. I usually like going straight home to get some work done around my house and yesterday we did just that. I took them (and my friend's son who had spent the night with us) out to eat and went home. I finished my work at home and then took them out to dinner. I took them to their favorite pizza place and while they ate (I didn't want to get tempted *smile), I did some "fresh fruit" shopping at the grocery store.
3. I have to say YES to this one. My son is one beautiful miracle, my house (I never thought of buying a home at 22 years old but I prayed about it and have had my house now for 3 years), my WLS, etc. I could keep on going buy will take a lot of space!!! **smile**
4. The last time I cried was yesterday. Well, I didn't really cry but I did shed some tears. I cried because I was and I am happy. I was sharing with my boyfriend chapter 2 of the book "Purpose Driven Life" and after doing some reading we talked and talked. He gave me a HUGE hug and tears came out of happiness. I'm happy with him and I thank God everyday for this man.
5. I do have a prayer request. For God to keep blessing my finances (single mother of 2. Well actually one but I'm also raising my 13 year old cousin, so the Lord has blessed me with 2 Kiddos!!)) and for him to heal me from my back. I'm looking forward to a prosperous and productive 2006 here at work (insurance) with God's help and pray everyday about it.
I'm sorry if I went on and on my first Roll Call.
I'm lifting each and everyone in prayer today, like I do everyday.
I love you all!!
Letty
Good Morning Letty and Everyone!
Good job with starting Roll Call Letty! You are so sweet! I will continue to pray for your back and your finances. I really admire you and your courage - I know it isn't easy to raise kids on your own but you are doing a fantastic job! Your breakfast foods sound wonderful - I love Mexican food. My closest nephew is Hispanic and loves his Mexican food. We speak Spanish to each other and it is fun - we love to tease each other and I thank the Lord for him - he is 16 and so cute!
Your questions for the day are excellent!
My answers:
1. What makes you come back to the Christianity Message board? The Lord. I know that my brothers and sisters here are prayer warriors and have a sincere walk with the Lord. You all have struggled with weight and understand the frustrations I have gone through. Coming here is my support and I love it!
2. What do you usually do on Sundays? Go to church and rest.
3. Has God created miracles in your life? YES! This surgery for one! But Sat. night my husband and I were talking about all the blessings we have in our lives and the list just kept getting longer. God is good!
4. When was the last time you cried? If so, why? Last night. I am passing another kidney stone and they are the most painful thing I have ever experienced! I feel so helpless when it happens and there is just nothing I can do but just writher in pain and cry.
5. I'm going to post what my sister Peg has posted before, Do you have a prayer request? Please pray that these kidney stones pass quickly. I have been dealing with them now for a week and I am worn out. But I am still going to try going skiing tonight - if I have an attack I will just have to stop. Please pray for Dawn - she is waiting at the hospital right now to go in - she is a little nervous but excited. I talked to both her and her husband Nick - he is a neat man - he is going to spend his time studying for his ordination while waiting during Dawn's surgery - that is so cool.
I love all of you and pray that God will meet you at your greatest need!
God Bless,
Lynda
Phil. 4:8
My dear Lynda! I'm lifting you up in prayer right now. I've seen what that kind of pain does to someone. My ex-husband had to go through this almost 3 years ago and I saw how he suffered. I remember driving him to the ER one time around 4 o'clock in the morning because he couldn't handle the pain anymore. I'm not a doctor but we were told for him to drink lots of cranberry juice and you might want to do the same. They say cranberry juice helps you clean your kidneys and that might help you pass them faster.
I'm also praying for Dawn and everyone else on this board. Please tell her that we love her and that we look forward to seeing her on our loosers bench!!!
I love you,
Letty
P.s. Good to know you speak Spanish with your nephew! I tried to teach my boss but he never learned!
Hi sweet sister Letty. Thanks for doing Roll Call. I praise God for you and that your back is feeling better. Hi my brothers and sisters in Christ! How are you doing today? I am lifting Kathy B up in prayer as she is in surgery right now. She was scheduled for her WLS at 7:30 mountain time. I will talk with either her husband or her daughter later on today to find out how she is doing, and then I will let you know. Here are my answers to the QODs.
1. What makes you come back to the Christianity Message board? The love and support of all of you, plus I love each of you and want to support you too.
2. What do you usually do on Sundays? Go to church and then hopefully do something with our family. Our 2 sons are grown, but they live just minutes from us.
3. Has God created miracles in your life? Oh my, yes! I thank God that I was given the parents I had. They taught me about the Lord. My DH and my 2 sons and my 2 grandsons are miracles in my life. The other miracle is that although I wanted a daughter and didn't have one of my own, God heard my prayer and knew my need. He placed many surrogate daughters in my life...my sister's 3 girls, my daughter-in-law who I couldn't possibly love any more than if she were my daughter by blood, and then her sister who became my God-daughter this past year. All these people are miracles in my life. I think the biggest miracle, though, is that God allowed my stomach cancer to be caught in time and has brought me through 2 very difficult surgeries. Praise His holy name!
4. When was the last time you cried? If so, why? I heard a Christian song on the radio Friday. The words really got to me.
5. I'm going to post what my sister Peg has posted before, Do you have a prayer request? Yes. I am praying for my dear sisters Kathy B and Dawn that they come through their surgeries successfully today. God, please keep them in Your tender care. Kathy is in surgery right now, and Dawn has requested that we pray for her at 1 p.m. her time. Since I'm not sure what time that is on the west coast, I'm just gonna continue to pray for all our WLS brothers and sisters who are having surgery today.
For me: My DH just kissed me good-bye and is on his way until Friday to visit his folks. Please pray for him that he has a safe trip. For me, I'm still working on getting pain-free enough that I can sleep in a regular bed rather than my hospital bed. Thank you, and God bless each and every one of you.
Love,
Peg
Hello Peg!wave:
I'm praying with you for Kathy B and Dawn and everyone else on this board including Lynda.
I'm also lifting YOU up in prayer. I'm praying for God to heal you and for you to be able to sleep in a regular bed. I pray for God to heal your arms and shoulders so that you can be set free of pain!! Always in his name.
I love you Peg,
Letty
Good afternoon Letty,
I'm glad that you are feeling better. Thank you for doing roll call today, and for thinking up question's. You and everyone on this board makes it worthwhile to keep comming here.
Q.O.T.D.
1. What makes you come back to the Christianity Message board?
Because of the Christ centered encouragement, the love we share, and I like you guy's.
2. What do you usually do on Sundays?
Go to church. Relax for a little bit. Walk, cook dinner. Relax some more.
3. Has God created miracles in your life?
I am a miracle! The Lord has taken me to such heights from where I was as a very neglected, abused kid, a teenager most always in an alcohol/drug induced state, and an adult that was miserable, suicidal and still in a drug/alcohol induced state. With the sin of gluttony piled high on top of all of it. HE ~ my SAVIOR brought me up out of all of it. He made me whole. He gave me a will to live and get well. He made many miracles happen in my life, I Praise Him and Give Him the Glory for All He has done for me. THE LORD has made me whole and has healed my broken emotions, Mind, soul, and now my body. THANK YOU JESUS!
4. When was the last time you cried? If so, why?
About 20 minutes or so ago. Because I said good-bye to the love of my life (here comes the tears again) knowing that he is gone, and is not ever comming back again. I have to move forward with the life the Lord has given to me to live. Also because I have been very discouraged with my progress with my W.L.S. I havent lost any weight for 4 weeks and even gained 12 pounds when I couldn't eat hardly anything. I was also thinking about Randall and Joie. How Hard it must be for him to watch the love of his life laying there so sick. The Lord has really just touched my heart with this one.
5. I'm going to post what my sister Peg has posted before, Do you have a prayer request?
That we would all continue to remember Randall and Joie in our prayers. My son's (Jason) salvation, and that my other 3 children would return to serving The Lord.
Love you all too.
God bless,
Annette

Happy Monday Letty, everyone!! Of course my husband is Mexican and he really likes menudo. Not me I have never really liked Mexican food too much, only Mexican people I guess As a matter of fact when I was single and someone would ask me where I wanted to eat I would say "anywhere but seafood or Mexican!" So here I am married to a Mexican living on the BEACH!!! So much for those preferences!!
I am praying for Dawn and Kathy B. I hope my day comes soon.
1. What makes you come back to the Christianity Message board? I really like this board and mainly only come here now, all the other board just seem so empty now with no meaning. I know when I come here people are trying to live for Christ the same way I am. And it is so important for us to encourage each other on this road! I am thankful God has placed each of you here!
2. What do you usually do on Sundays? Oh my Sundays are busy!! Starts Saturday night, getting baths and showers and clothes ready. Sunday morning I make sure the kids have eaten and been changed baby bag packed , I somehow have to get ready. DH is own his own. Off to church, then usually to lunch with my pastor and his family. Then home so the kids can take a nap. Then back to church in the evening.
3. Has God created miracles in your life? OH yes! Well my children are such a miracle to me! My husband. I, like Annette, have had problems in my past like sexual abuse, depression, even suicidal episodes. Spiritual warfare and weight battles. It is a miracle that God decided to save me and keep my life going! I only pray that He will continue to use me and my family to glorify Him!
4. When was the last time you cried? If so, why? Let's see, I teared up last nigh****ching extreme home make over. What they do for those families is amazing!!
5. I'm going to post what my sister Peg has posted before, Do you have a prayer request? Thank you for asking, I do need prayer for our business and for wisdom. And pray that something will work out for me to have surgery this year.
Letty I am praying for your back pain too, I am glad that it is better today!
Well this reply only took about 30min in between Dora the explorer, apple juice, daughter eating a leaf and son trying to crawl in my lap!! AHH you gotta love 'em!!

Good afternoon Lettie and I am so glad that the pain is easing.....
Appreciate your roll call questions.....
1. I come to the Christianity Message Board because I know there are brothers and sisters here who are prayer warriors....one's who give me encouragement in my spiritual walk.
2. I was raised knowing that Sunday was the Lord's day and to go to church or not was never an option. However, as I have matured I know that God does not dwell in the church but in His people. His people are energized with thier worship and what better place than in a sanctuary.
Some times I find myself walking on Sunday morning from the house to the ocean bay and just basking in His love thru His creation.
3. I cannot begin to count the miracles that God has created in my life. I'm sure there are many that I myself have not even recognized. Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous.
4. Between Christmas and New Years I visited my brother, age 60, who lives about 10 hours away from where I live. I gave him a black and white picture that I had enlarged and copied....a picture of our family from the early 1950's. Both mom, dad and our stepbrother have gone to meet their maker......we cried....and then cried some more. We were really blessed to grow up in a Christian home.
5. I do have two special prayer requests....(1)I am transitioning from LPN to RN and my classes are on line. I have not had classes on line before and it is so different than being in the traditional classroom. I'm a little bit nervous about it all....plus the fact that I haven't been working as a nurse and fear my skill level has suffered. I want to succeed at this 2nd career venture because I believe it is what God wants for my life.
(2) My husband and I were in full-time ministry for 18 plus years. Right now we attend church, the denomination that we were raised and served in for all those years, and we are not being spiritually fed. We don't know exactly what to do about it. We miss our ministerial work.
I hope everyone is having a good Saturday and anticipating a wonderful day tomorrow.
Luvitsunnyv
