Hi All~ For you newbies this might not make much sense, for us "old heads" I have another prayer request to add to that drama that is my life. (newbies, you can check out my old posts to update yourselves: http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/christianity/postdetail/7294.html?vc=0 http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/christianity/postdetail/7294.html?vc=0) My husband got a letter today stating that he has been denied unemployment benefits because his prior employer said he was fired do to negligence. (which is a pile of bologna) I typed a fancy appeal letter for us to send out tomorrow. In the mean time we have be forced to face the reality that we need some assistance. Tomorrow afternoon when I get done my last day at my "new" job, we are going to head over to the county board of social services and apply for any assistance we can get. I filled out an online questionnaire and it said we qualify for energy assistance, food stamps, financial assistance, and health insurance for the kids. As much as I hate to swallow my pride and go there, I am grateful that there is someplace for us to turn to. Please keep us in prayer as we look for options. My prayer is that my disability will be short and both of us will be out getting a job in no time. EVEN SO...God is still good, His mercy endures forever and His grace is sufficient for me!! Love, Dawn 4 more days

Dawn, I will be praying for your family and (of course) you during your surgery and recovery. I know it is God's will for your family to have all your needs met. Seems like the enemy keeps trying to knock you down but through Gods abundant grace and provision you will be victorious. Sure its hard to ask for assistance but that is what it is there for, to help people who need a hand until they can get back on their feet. Remember God has good plans for you and your family! Blessings!

Hi Dawn. I am standing with you in prayer, dear sister. What comes to mind is that you and your DH must truly love and serve the Lord to have Satan trying so hard to destroy you! God is in control. I know you and your DH are doing everything that you can to keep things going. You are right on as far as getting the help you need. That's why it's there...to help good people like you. I am praying continuously for you, Dawn. Isn't it great to know that so many people love you and are praying for you? Thank you for all that you do for others here on the board. I have drawn so much strength from you. I hope you draw strength just knowing how much we care. God bless and keep you and your family in His tender care. Love, Peg

Hi Dawn! You and Nick are in my prayers! I will be praying that you get the assistance that you need. I am concerned for you as you will be having surgery on Monday and I want you to rest and not worry. If you go into surgery well rested and at peace your recovery will go so much better. The Lord has plans for you and your beautiful family - so take courage! And through this all I still see you giving God the glory - bless you! Monday is the day!! I have all your info and I will be calling you here in the next couple of days! How exciting!! I love you. God Bless, Your angel, Lynda Phil. 4:8

Hey Steph~ How are you feeling? I read that you were on pureed food before you even left the hospital, that is amazing. Have you lost anything yet, or is it to early to tell? Everything went well at the Bd of Social Services. Of course we qualified for everything, Nick just had to go back one day next week for a one on one interview. I assume at that time they will let us know how they can help us. They already said that our electric and gas will be paid. That's good. It seems like so many times we find ourselves in slumps and once we get out of it we say, "we have to make sure that doesn't happen again." For some reason it does happen again usually worse than the time before, but we always get though. There is no valley that God's love isn't deeper than and there is no mountain top that His almighty power isn't higher than. So no matter where I am, I can stand firm in knowing that God is there and will hold my hand through it. Love ya, Dawn

Dawn, I will pass on to you the wisdom my father passed on to me when I became a single mother with three children after my first husband walked out on me. "Don't be to proud to go and ask for assistance to help raise those children. I pay taxes and I am glad when those taxes are used to help people like you out". Jim--my father. Kathy from MO
