***WEDNESDAY ROLL CALL***
Good Morning Everyone!
I am praising the Lord that I am still alive! I had my three month check up yesterday afternoon and the doctor was so pleased. My hydration levels were perfect, I have lost over 75 pounds and doing very well.
THEN... I went shopping and walked and walked - I was on top of the world just thanking the Lord.
THEN... I am on the 6 lane freeway bumper to bumper traffic going 65 miles per hour in the fast lane and all of a sudden it was like someone stabbed me in the back! I started to sweat and hyperventilate so everything was going numb and I couldn't get pulled over - it was horrible. I called 911 on my cell phone and finally was able to get over. The ambulance was there in less than 3 minutes but in that short time I had completely fogged the windows up inside the car. I had never felt such horrible pain and I had all my children by natural child birth and the two didn't even begin to compare. Anyway, they got my vitals leveled and got me to the hospital. I was passing a large kidney stone. They kept giving me morphine and nothing touched it. Finally at 3 am this morning it passed. The doctor told my husband that I had two more bigs ones to pass. Right now I am fine but hopefully when the others come through I won't be on the freeway! These were stones I apparently had before surgery and with my increase of water they are now coming through. Please pray I am at home when they do. I am thanking the Lord for keeping me safe out on the freeway!
Questions for today:
1. How far out from surgery are you or how long until you have surgery?
2. Were you overweight as a child?
3. What is your most tolerated food?
I love all of you and pray God will meet you at your greatest need!
God Bless,
Lynda
Phil. 4:8
My answers:
1. Three months out and boy time is going by quickly!
2. I was overweight as a child and the only time I didn't struggle was when I was a junior and senior in high school - just because I didn't take the time to eat and then that just started a vicious cycle!
3. Still nuts and milk. Everything else has come up one time or another - still can't eat meat.
Lynda, Lynda, Lynda!!!! I thank God that His Precious Hand of protection was upon you! Thank You, Lord Jesus, for keeping my precious sister safe, even in the midst of the pain she was in! I pray that the other stones won't cause you the same problem, in Jesus Name! I love you, Lady!
1. Twelve weeks out and Praising my Sweet, Sweet Jesus!
2. No, I did not have weight problems until my pregnancies.
3. I thank Jesus that I don't seem to have any 'problem' foods as yet. I just need to eat slow!!!
Have a great day, Everyone! Love, Cindy
Oh my Lynda!!! I am so glad you are okay!! How scared you must have been! My dad has problems with kidney stones. He has started drinking more water. He was never much of a water drinker but the doctors told him to cut back on colored drinks, like coffee and colas. His last stone was pretty bad because a week before he had just had back surgery so they really couldn't do anything for him as far as the kidney stone was concerned. He started going septic so they went in through his back and put a drain into his kidney that way. Anyway, he is okay today. I'm praying that is something I do not inherit. LOL My day has been pretty uneventful compared to yours and I am thankful! I had my ladies' bible study this morning and enjoyed spending that time with them. We are fixing to get ready to do Beth Moore's "The Patriarch's" bible study. I think that is what it is called. Anyway, we will be starting it by February 1st.
Okay as for my QOD:
1. I had surgery three years ago this past September.
2. No, I wasn't overweight as a child. I didn't start gaining weight until I met my husband.
3. I can pretty much tolerate any food now. I love any kinds of foods with tomatoes in it, like italian or mexican, anything like that.
Anyway, ya'll have a great day! I'm fixing to post another update on Kelly.
Shel
Yikes! I am concerned about kidney stones since we are losing weight so fast. I hope you don't experience as much pain again. I am 3 months out from surgery, I was not overweight as a child, but I thought I was. I was extremely self conscious because my mother and sister are petite and I was bigger than them by age 12. I am taller and just have larger bone structure, but I thought I was a freak! Right now my most tolerated food is probably a tie between potatoes and tuna fish.
Have a great day.

Hi Cynthia!
Good to hear from you! The emergency doctor said that the surgery had nothing to do with the kidney stones because of the size they were, they were definately there before surgery. His theory was that now that I am drinking more water and exercising more, I knocked them loose. My first question was if the surgery would cause me to get more, and he said no. Thank you Lord - now just to get the other two out that are in there will be the hard part!
I love you!
God Bless,
Lynda

I PTL you're still alive Lynda!!! My goodness I know that if it would have been me in your case, I would have panicked!! Praise God you were able to get help. I love you and I'm praying for you my sweet sister.
Here are my answers.
Questions for today:
1. How far out from surgery are you or how long until you have surgery? I'm 1 year 5 months and 9 days post op.
2. Were you overweight as a child? Yes I was.
3. What is your most tolerated food? I can tolerate almost everything now that I'm this far out. The only few things I now I can not tolerate are foods HIGH in sugar, cokes, fried foods (i.e.fried chicken). I can mostly tolerate everything except those few things I mentioned. I know there's more I can not tolerate but I can't remember.
Hugs,
Letty
Lynda, what a scary experience! I know one of my daughter's in law has dealt with this and the pain just paralyses her. She has had two episodes. Yipes!
to answer the questions:
1. I am about 2 1/2 months out from RNY. Had surgery 10/24/05.
2. No, I was not overweight as a child or teen. Not really until after my 3rd child. I blame the boys but they say "mother, that was years ago!"
3. What is my most tolerated food? Honestly just about anything I've eaten. The only thing I didn't tolerate was a bagel. too much thick bread I guess. The only time I have vomited is after eating a few grapes too fast. That was one time. Sometimes its hard to believe I had surgery.
