I have just spoken with Becky. She and Mike are at the hospital with the Culpepper family. They have been told that there has been "Dramatic" improvement over Joie's condition of earlier this morning. She is still sedated and on the ventilator but making progress. Her condition is still critical and there is a long way to go in this battle, but for now there appears to be a ray of sunshine in the clouds. There is still not a definite diagnosis, but they are beginning to lean towards ARDS which is Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome. It will still take some time to determine if this is the actual diagnosis and cause for Joie's problems. For those who would like more information on ARDS, below is a couple of links that can provide you with basic information on it. Bear in mind when reading this information, that this is a suspicion of a POSSIBLE cause and not a DEFINITE DIAGNOSIS. Again, thanks to you all for your prayers and patience as the physicians work to bring Joie through this very critical time in her life.
