ROLL CALL for Sunday
Good Morning everyone! I haven't posted roll call in a long time, so I thought I would start today's roll call. I'm doing pretty good. I was having a rough time there for a while. Satan attacking I guess. But I got back to my quiet time and as usual, am feeling better knowing that God is with me. I don't know why I allow myself to get "too busy" to take the time to have my quiet time. Anyway, I'm not very good with coming up with the QOD's but here we go.
1. What is your "original" hair color?
2. If you could go on any vacation without money being a factor, where would you go?
3. How many children, how old and are you worried that they will inherit your weight problem?
4. What time of day do you have your quiet time?
That's is about all I can think of off the top of my head. I pray everyone has a wonderful Sunday and that you get to church and open yourself up to hear from God. God bless you all!!
Love always,
Shel
here are my answers:
1. My original color is an ugly light brown with gray in it. It is now red.
2. I would love to be able for my husband and I to go on a cruise together, maybe to Alaska and my parents to go with us. They have always wanted to go on an Alaskan cruise.
3. I have two beautiful girls ages 12 (13 in February) and just turned 11. So far, they are both thin but I do worry they will have my problem. I've tried to not push them to eat and allowed them to eat until they feel full. I don't "reward" them with food. Kat, my oldest, is already 5'8" tall and weighs about 120. Kayla is close to 5' tall and weighs around 75 pounds. I do pray that they don't have my problems.
4. I try to make sure I sit down in the mornings and have my quiet time but I do find myself "talking" with God all throughout the day.
Hi Shel! I see I am not the only one up early today! Oh, you really came up with a good starter question!!! #1. Towhead as a baby, than went to dark brown with red and copper highlights. Started to thin at 16y/o, and kept on going(a fam. inheritance****il I started wearing wigs. Got really tired of everyone staring at my bald head instead of looking into my eyes!! Love the wigs, really soooo much simpler than when I had to do my own. What I Do have left, which isn't even enough to comb, is ash brown with some grey. Don't you like the red so much better??(Always wanted to be Rita Hayworth) Wow, just dated myself!! #2. If $$ no object, and I could get around with no problems, a thorough tour of Europe! And the Greek Islands. #3. I have 3 children. Susan, age 35, already struggles; she has my build, etc. My boy Matt, is 5'11", and is a normal wt, but had been quite overweight for a number of years until he hit about 25. My girl Amy is 6'tall, and about 140. If she sucks in her belly it touches her backbone!! Really, she has always been a good eater. I used to call it picky, but now realize she has some sort of built in monitor that I don't have. She does like her sweets, tho, and that may catch up with her one day in her overall health. #4. My best time is if I get up at 5:30a.m.,and have it, but I really struggle with the time in the winter, do better in the summer when it "feels" more like morning. Thanks for starting the roll call, hope you and everyone else have a good day, and God bless you as you worship today in His presence. Kathy
Hi Shel. Hi fellow Christian Brothers and Sisters! I love being able to write that. It is so freeing to be able to talk with you and know that you are true believers. Doesn't that just cut down on all the barriers that separate us to know that we truly are brothers and sisters? I am looking forward to one day meeting all of you at the throne of Jesus.
Shel, for someone who says she can't think up very good QOD's, you sure came up with some good ones! Here are my answers.
1. What is your "original" hair color? Bald as a baby, then very dark brown with some reddish highlights. Now my "original" color is Wella light/dark auburn with highlights. Ah, nature in a bottle! Only her hairdresser knows for sure!
2. If you could go on any vacation without money being a factor, where would you go? My DH and I want to head to the east coast. We've been to Pennsylvania, Washington DC, etc., but I want to visit the New England states, especially in the fall to see the beautiful trees.
3. How many children, how old and are you worried that they will inherit your weight problem? I have two sons ages 36 and 33. They are slightly overweight, but they take after their father, not me, thank God.
4. What time of day do you have your quiet time? Usually first thing in the morning when I wake up.
That's it for now. I need to go get ready for church. Have a blessed day.
Love,
Peg
Peg,
If you feel like heading out to New Jersey, I have a comfy sofa bed in the basement with your name on it!! We're about 30 mins from Ocean City and Atlantic City if you drive south east. We're about 40 mins from Philadelphia if you drive north west. I love the east coast! We get to see all four seasons. It's really nice.
Love,
Dawn
Hi Shel! Hi Everyone!!! Good questions, Shel & thanks for starting Roll Call!
1. Blonde as a baby and light brown through out school...then started coloring it blonde...then when I got married went to brown....and for the past year, I have went back to blonde because the gray was showing through so much sooner with brunette hair....the blonde blends in better with the gray!
2. I think I would like to go on a cruise....do they have cruises going to Hawaii? That's where I'd probably want to go and on the way, see California!
3. We have two children, our daughter is 25 and has inherited my obesity problems. Our son is 22 and has no problem with his weight.
4. In the mornings, after I use the restroom, brush my teeth, and get dressed.
God bless you all! I love ya' Cindy

Good Sunday afternoon! I don't always have time to reply to roll call, so I will try to sneak one in here today!
1. My hair color is a medium brown, have only darkened it twice in my life.
2. I have always wanted to see the green hills of Ireland or Scotland. But I have also always told myself that even if I never get to travel and see such things in this life, it is OK because I know in the next I will see and experience so much more and wonderful things!!
3. I have two precious children as most of you know! Isaac will be 2 in Feb and Lily will be 1 in March. I have worried about how they will grow into their bodies. I pray that I will be smaller soon and that I can really set a good example for them and keep them active. I really hope that don't remember me like this. And their Mexican blood keeps them hopping! literally!
4.Quiet time?? In this house, ha, oh that's funny!!
No I try to read my bible at nap time or before bed. It is definitely an area that needs work.
Have a wonderful, terrific, blessed, Sunday! Candy
Good afternoon Shel and everyone else!
I figured I would jump online while my hubby is watching football. I really like football, but every year around this time I am ready for it to be over. Our pastor asked us if we would have a superbowl party at our house this year and at half time preach the gospel. Of course we said yes. Keep me in prayer that I will be well enough to host it. I guess it is my female instint to be the host; I just can't sit back.
For anyone interested in knowing why the pastor chose OUR house for the party...check out the pictures called "My Basement" at http://www.picturetrail.com/goswick2879 too bad the team we like won't be there. There's always next year!!
QOD:
1. What is your "original" hair color? Pretty much what it is now. Light brown. I used to dye it all the time until I damanged it so badly, my hairdresser literally cussed at me!! I put highlights in ever summer then use a non-permant auburn dye in the fall to take them out.
2. If you could go on any vacation without money being a factor, where would you go? Somewheres with white beaches, crystal blue water, 0 humidity, and 80 degrees. Only if this is post op because I would need to be in a cute bathing suit!!
3. How many children, how old and are you worried that they will inherit your weight problem? I have 2 kids. Blake is 7 and Madison is 18 mos. My husband and I plan on having them both very active in sports. I hope that by doing that they will stay lean. Blake already plays football and that requires so much endurance.
4. What time of day do you have your quiet time? I can't say that I have a "quiet time". I study God's word daily, but not at a distinct time. I can tell you the time I feel like I am right is his presence is when I am alone in my car and I have my music blasting and I sing and cry and probably look like a nut, but I don't care.
Love,
Dawn
Hi Shel!
Better late than never! It has been a quiet day.
My answers:
1. What is your "original" hair color? Med Blonde. I lightened once several years ago but never really have changed it. My mom gave me a gift certificate for a local salon and said I should have it lightened again. My hair isn't falling out too bad yet but I think I will wait a few more months before messing with it.
2. If you could go on any vacation without money being a factor, where would you go? We do a lot of traveling. My husband took me to the Bahamas this past year for two weeks it was fabulous! I would like to take a bike tour of Europe but you didn't say anything about a time factor!
3. How many children, how old and are you worried that they will inherit your weight problem? I have 3 children ages 24, 20, and 14. Girl, boy, girl. I lost 7 children. I thank the Lord for the three that I have! My husband is thin, tall, and athletic and they all take after him - thank you Lord. My oldest daughter however is pregnant with our 3rd grandchild and she didn't quite get all of her last baby weight off but she exercises regularly and I don't think she is going to have a problem. The biggest thing I have been concerned about is if they were going to walk with the Lord. The Lord has been gracious - they are all serving Him and they all say that they too will homeschool their children - maybe they liked it! Whew!
4. What time of day do you have your quiet time? In the morning and when ever I can fit it in during the day - I need that time with the Lord.
Wow lots of people having surgery that are on our board! Pray, pray, pray! God keeps sending wonderful people our way and I feel so blessed to be part of this board - such a great support system! I love you all!
God Bless,
Lynda
