Hello dear friends, I am turning to you for some assistance. I have been unable to find a job due to my fluctuating (sp?) blood pressure. I am considering finding something I can do from home. It has been suggested that I become a Medical Billing Specialist or something similar. Has anyone on this site ever held a similar position? Does anyone currently work from home? Do you have any suggestions for a 44-year old English major? I am desperate for employment. Thank you for any assistance you can offer me. Kathy from MO

Kathy, I don't really have any advice for you. I work from home though. I just kind of fell into it. While living in AR I did medical transcription but I worked at an office. When we moved to GA I noticed an add in the paper and applied. I didn't have the experience he wanted but he gave me a chance anyway. My previous job was typing for psychiatrists and counselors and now I type for orthopedic surgeons and physiatrists. It is hard to discipline myself though when it comes to working at home. I don't have a room that I can call my office and shut the door. I think that would help a lot. That way I could say I'm at work and leave me alone. I wanted to be home for my girls though. It was important to me since we don't have any family here or know anyone. Anyway, good luck on your endeavor. You might try researching it online and see what you find. I know one of the girls that was hired the same time I was had just finished her degree in medical transcription. God bless!! Shel

Kathy - I work for West Teleservices. You can apply for this work at home job by visiting: workathomeagent.com. It is not bad - you pick your own schedule and if you have time to dedicate to it, you can make some money. To find out about other work at home jobs - visit: workplacelikehome.com. This is a messgae board for just about ALL legitimate career opportunities. It will take a while to get used to manuevering through this site - but give it time. On the home page it lists all companies and how to apply. LiveOps is a good company to work for - they do require $30.00 for the background check - but this IS a legit company and people really like it and make good money!!! One requirement for MOST of the companies is DSL. Hope that helps, Shrinky
