Hello All~ Whew!! Christmas is done. I don't know about you, but it can be exhausting for me. It was for my little one too. She slept until 8:30 today. She normally is up by 7. Questions of the day: 1. How many of you went to church yesterday? It's kinda neat knowing that we all pretty much heard the same sermon. 2. What was one point that the preacher said that jumped out at you? For me, it was found in Matthew 2:11. It reads "And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh." I never saw this before, but look at what the wise men did: They SAW, they FELL DOWN, and they WORSHIPED. Isn't that awesome? Without saying a single word, they saw that this babe truly was the image of the invisible God and they fell and worshiped Him. Isn't that what you want to do when you go to heaven; see, fall, and worship? That's it today. Just the 2 questions. I think I have to stop there because they are very important ones. Have a blessed day! Dawn

Hello Dawn, Read your response to my earlier message then saw your new message. Looks like we both are spending quite a bit of time in prayer. Please remember me in your prayers. I am praying for you too. QOTD: 1. How many of you went to church yesterday? I was at church yesterday...I am every Sunday. However, I bet we didn't hear the same lessons. I am a member at the Carolina Church of Christ and we do not celebrate Christmas as a religious holdiay. 2. What was one point that the preacher said that jumped out at you? His whole sermon was on barriers to believing in God, Christ and the Bible...he talked about people say Jesus and the Apostles were just a bunch of lunatics. However, Jesus is recoreded in secular history as well as in the Bible. Back in the days of Jesus if someone was crazy they ignored them and didn't place them in secular history accounts. He and his followers were zealous but not crazy. We should immitate his zeal and not worry about what the others in this world think of us. I hope you have a wonderful day... --Kelly

Hi Dawn, I'm sorry to post this two days late but I have been sick for the last few days. I didn't much feel like looking at my pc let alone going online. SO If it's ok with you all, I'd like to answer now. QOD: 1)Yes my family and I did attend church ON Christmas morning--can't imagine celebrating Christmas without first giving all glory to the King of Kings and our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. 2) The sermon was titled "Would You Qualify?" Our pastor posed this question after pondering what if the time for The birth of our savior was right now in 2005, would God be able to find a modern day 'Joseph and Mary' who met His strict prerequsites? Would He be able to find a man or woman who were both pure (virgins)? Who were open and receptive to hear His voice? Who were totally willing to be submitted to His perfect will? In this day and age when EVERYTHING is centered around sex and self-fulfillment, what would your answer be? My answer was NO. It was a very powerful message. What stood out to me the most was when pPastor asked us if we were listening for the voice of God or do we allow ourselves to be distracted by the world. Agape, Cara B.

Hello Dawn, Well I am more than a couple of days late responding to these questions but I wanted to add my input. Question #1 Yes we attended church on Sunday morning. I wouldn't think of spending it anywhere else. Question #2 I hate to admit it but I can't remember the sermon very well. I was very emotional on Sunday. I felt fine until I walked into the church and we started singing Christmas hymns. I just burst into tears. I don't know if it was because my husband is still in Iraq or if I was just being "hormonal". I do remember the poem he read written from the point of view of someone who is already dwelling in heaven. I wish I could recall it well enough to share it here. Kathy from MO
