I need prayers and help

Hi All~ I am truly humbling myself with what I am about write. Something terrible has happened today. My husband was terminated from his job for no reason. You already know that I am going to loose my job anyday as well. My insurance was through my husband. I called my surgeon's office in tears wanting to know what, if anything, I can do. They said that if I get just one month of cobra that they will make sure that I get my surgery in Jan. She said that I should be able to get cobra for just myself. This is where the humbling part is. I don't know where any of you stand financially, but I am asking if any of you can find it in your hearts to help me with the cost of the one month of cobra. I don't even know how much it is going to cost; I'm assuming 2 or 3 hundred. Anything would help. You all know how much I want and need this operation. Could you please pray about this and if you feel the Lord leading you to help me, let me know. I understand that it is the holiday season and you might not have anything to offer. I would never look down on someone for saying "no", but this is my only option. I have no one else to ask. God bless, Dawn

God bless you!! Words on a screen can't expess what this means to me. I haven't stopped crying since I came home. (2 1/2 hours ago.) This is the first time I cryed out of joy though, and I thank you for that. I know that everyone on this board knows what it feels like to need this surgery. With the added stress of the holidays, there is just no way that we could afford this on our own. If your husband agrees to help, I would be forever in your debt. I wish I could hug you!! Dear Dawn, I am so sorry to hear about your dilemma. I experienced the loss of my job in February. Is your husbands only employment at the church or did he work elsewhere? I still don't understand why it is always the holiday season when employers discharge their employees, banks foreclose on houses, and creditors sue their customers for back payment. I wish there was something more I could do for you than prayer but "my father in Heaven has unlimited resources" so I have to trust him to provide not only for your need but mine as well. Kathy, Nick worked somewhere else. He isn't on any type of payroll with the church. That won't happen until he is a Sr. Pastor. Like I said before, I don't know anyone's financial situations, and I would never look down to someone who couldn't help. I believe in the power of prayer. James 5:16 says "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" I have so much faith that my Heavenly Father will "open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing" (Mal 3:10) for me. His word is TRUTH. It's UNCHANGING. If He said He will do it; it will be done. Right now I have to trust in Him. He already told me that I am having this surgery. Php 1:6 "being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ". He began it, I have to be faithful and patient to see Him complete it. Love, Dawn

Dear Dawn, As you will see on the messageboard that I posted today, my journey is over. I will pray for you! Please let me know if you can get the cobra coverage. My sister had it b4 she died in sept and hers was apx $350.00 here in florida. I would be honored to be given the opportunity to help you. So please don't hesitate to email me. Dawn, send me your address. I will see what I can send. It won't be much but I pray that God will do something extrodinary with it. I know that you trust Him, He has not forgotten you. He will sustain you through this. You are going to need medical insurance for after the surgery. The complications can be more costly than the surgery itself. I don't want to increase fear. I just have read a lot on this website and know that you will need care after. God Bless and keep you, I am so sorry that you are going through this stress at Christmas. J Marie, Thank you!! Actually, I am aware of complications that could arise. The girl at my doctor's office explained to me that if I get the cobra for a month to cover the surgery and hospital stay; then I can go to the welfare office and file for temporary medicaid for post-op care. She said that since neither of us would be able to have pick up insurance coverage through employment they would have to give it to me. The good thing is that in NJ once you get medicaid, they cover you for 2 years. I just posted a reply above. I know that God will work this out. Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose". It's just so hard to step back and let God take the steering wheel, especially when you feel like you are loosing control of the vehicle. Love, Dawn
