Need Help
I am trying to get ready for my first weeks post-op, and get all of Christmas stuff done too. I need to find out what kind of protein powders are the best nutritionally, and where to get them. I can't just have someone run out and get it for me, because we are 70miles from the nearest health food store, etc. Want to try them out before if I can, but don't know where to start. Thanks, KtB
I am using Isopure powder. I use both chocolate and very vanilla. I like the vanilla because I can mix it with different fruits and get different flavors. However, immediately post op, I was not able to drink it with anything mixed in so the chocolate was better then. One serving (12 oz) has 50 grams of protein. I would divide it into 3 - 4oz drinks and spread it out over the course of the day. Now that I am a couple of months out, I can drink a half a shake with stuff mixed in it and use it as my morning meal. It tastes fine to me. But it only comes in a huge size and I have never been able to find sample sizes. I just got it because that was what my doctor told me to use.
Hope this helps!
Love, Jacinda
Hi Kt B,
I am still new to all of this - I am only 9 weeks out but so far I have found that the Unjury protein for me works the best. It mixes so well into milk or water. Alot of protein powders are hard to get mixed up but the Unjury is so smooth. Went to the movies the other night and took a packet of the chocolate and mixed it into my water bottle and it was a really neat treat for me. That was one thing I was afraid I was going to miss was the treats at the movie but I was completely happy.
You can get samples online at unjury.com. Love ya and I pray and hope things go well with you. Love ya!
God Bless,

I'm not at home so don't have the exact names but the ones from Walmart are good, one is "advantedge" and the other has a grey label. I like them both in the vanilla. My favorite so far is the 'cafe mocha' flavor that you can get at 'bariatriceating.com' Its really good.
I have not tried the unjury.
