Oh, no! Not the shingles

Hello, everyone, I have a prayer request to share with you. My aunt just called me and my cousin's husband, John, has a severe case of the shingles. It is mainly on the right side of his face by his right eye. Please pray for him and his family. They have a newborn daughter and an 11-year old. Little Madelyn Faith was a surprise birth with so many years between the daughters. Thank God school is on Christmas break so John might be able to improve before he is due to return to his teaching position. Thank you so much for your prayers. Kathy from MO

HI KATHY, I SAID A PRAYER FOR JOHN. A FEW YEARS BACK I HAD THE SHINGLES UNDER MY RIGHT SHOULDER BLADE ( OUCH ), THEY REALLY HURT, I CAN'T IMAGINE HAVING THEM AROUND MY EYE. HUGS, TRUDY

Dear Trudy, Thanks for your prayers. My grandmother had the shingles at one time. They were around her waist. She was miserable and in a lot of pain, also. God knows John's need and he hears our prayers so I believe God will heal John. Wow! I just looked out the window and it snowed overnight. A snow plow just went by. Hi Kathy. I am joining the others in praying for John. Both my mom and grandmother had shingles.....not a good experience. I pray for healing for John, in Jesus' precious name. Amen Peg

Dear Peg, Thank you so much for your prayers on John's behalf. It really blessed my aunt's heart when I told her so many people had joined me in praying for Johns' shingles. I pray that you have had a beautiful time in worship today. I unfortunately had to miss our senior choir christmas program tonight since my vehicle decided to break down. I guess I shouldn't complain since I knew it needed work, I was just hoping for another paycheck before I put my vehicle in a repair shop. Interesting piece of trivia: I now weigh the same as my pastor. Boy was I shocked. You can definitely tell the difference in body structure. What is our weight? 250 pounds. Kathy, I know this is probably late for your cousin's husband and his case of the shingles(I don't know when it flared up), but if a person goes to the Dr. just as soon as the flare-up starts, there is a medication that can be started that will greatly minimize the suffering. It must be started like within12-18hrs., I believe. My husband has patients that go thru shingles flare-ups, and I understand they are excruciating. So my prayers also go out to him! God Bless, KtB

Dear KtB, thank you so much for that information unfortunately as you stated it was too late to help John but it is something I will file away in case I hear of anyone else being struck with the shingles. Thank you for sharing that information. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas. Kathy
