Becky's back in the hospital!!
Hi All~
I recently received an email from Becky's mother:
thanks for all of your encouragement. She went back into surgery late Fri. afternoon after not being able to stand the pain. She had an obstruction in her small bowel and the bile had built up so that she had a liter of that stuff in her large stomach. She now has a drain which may be with her for 3-6 weeks, to drain that stuff out of her. She is still in pain because all of that stuff is not out as yet, but she talks and feels so much better. She has not even been able to read the bible, but has prayed that God will use her pain to glorify him. God has a reason for this and we may not be able to see what it is, but we trust him to bring her through this stronger. She will be in the hosp for a few days or even a few weeks. The dr. says he will take a day at a time and make no promises about when she will get out. Meanwhile, we are doing fine. The children are happy here and are able to feel at home. I have to teach 4 more days and I will be off for 2 weeks. That is a blessing. her husband may come home a week early. That would be lk too. Keep praying for her
Dawn, my prayers are there, too, for Becky, and her family as they come together to pray through this. On a different subject... I have a very dear and close friend of 43yrs. We were hi-school buddies, than nursing school together, and have stayed very close. She has been separated for about 6mo now, as her husband left her (another woman..who he has already dropped). Neither of them are Christians, and I ask for your prayers as I witness to her again over Christmas when we are home for the holiday. Just spoke on the phone to her, and we will spend some time together. She has gotten somewhat involved in new-age stuff, too. Well, I ask your prayers for Cecile, she is so precious to me, and I've prayed for her for so long!! May God open her heart, and give me the words to speak in the Spirit's strength, that she may be saved! Another subj. again... Have been letting the new s of upcoming surgery out a bit more, and so far, only one negative from my step-mother, and than only because of her concern about complications. So I will take my books and web sites to them and do some educating while I am there at Christmas. Thank you all for your open and warm Christian hearts!! KtB
KtB,
Hi
About your unsaved friend; Do your best to be a living example of Christ's love. As people grow older, their hearts grow harder. Everytime someone is presented the gospel and turn a deaf ear it gets easier and easier to say "no". So rather than preaching down her throat, be subtle. Tell her the areas of YOUR life that God has blessed. Share your testimony. Make her have to sit back and say to herself, "hmmm, I don't know what it is about her, but whatever it is, I want some of it!"

So far I have told 2 people about my upcoming surgery. These are people that I work with and really don't consider "friends". They were both excited for me. They had nothing bad to say; but then again I didn't give them an opportunity to do so either. I was quick to tell them how many years I have researched this and if it takes my life, at least I died trying to do something. The only thing that has hurt emotionally, is I was half hoping they would say, "oh, you don't need that. You not that big." Well, that never happened. Just another slap of reality that this is necessary for me. Thanks for letting me vent.
Love,
Dawn
Thank you for keeping us posted on Becky's welfare. I am praising God that they found the problem quickly before any serious damage could be done. I can't believe that you didn't have surgery already. When I look at your picture your face appears so slim, I never would have thought you were overweight. May God guide your surgeon's hand on your surgery day and his will be done.
Have a blessed Christmas,
Kathy
