Hi everybody. Thanks for getting things rolling, Annette. It's still dark here on the west coast. I woke up at 5 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep, so I'm here at the computer. I am trying to get an unofficial support group going during the day here in the Portland area. I posted to the Oregon board and got a response from a woman by the name of Joy. She and I met this week for lunch, and we are going ahead. The Oregon board is not very active, so we are hoping to get people more involved in posting. I started a roll call post yesterday. We'll see what happens. Joy posted that she and I are going to be meeting informally next Tuesday. Would you please pray that we get a response from some others? Joy was the first person I have met in person who has also had WLS. I really need a support system....besides all you wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ! Thanks, and God bless each and every one of you. Now for the answers to the QOD: #1. Do you plan your meals ahead of time, and do you eat on a schedule? No and no. #2. What kind of and how much exercise do you do? Right now, I walk at least 3 times a week and do my physical therapy exercises daily. #3. How often do you read/study your Bible? OK. This is true confession time. I am not a regular Bible reader. Oh, I hate writing that! I am not a very disciplined person, and I need to be. I pray alot during the day, but I know that is only me reaching out to Him. His answers are found in His Word. I feel so convicted! Will you please pray that I will devour His Word? Thanks, and God bless you all. Peg

Hi Peg, Of course I will (and do) keep you in prayer. First that you would be able to develop a good Bible reading/studing time, so that The Lord can talk to you as much as you talk to Him, and that you and Joy can start a successful, support group. A woman named Yvonne and I talked about starting a support group way back in march then a bunch of stuff happened in both of our lives... But our group finally did get started. It's very informal. We meet at the Denny's restaurant just a couple of miles from my house. It works for us and were seem to have 1 or 2 new people each month. It's a good thing God bless you, Annette

Hi Annette, What a wonderful verse. It feels so good to know that God is our dwelling place. When life becomes too much, we can snuggle up with Him as long as we need. QOD Since I am pre-op I don't think 1 & 2 apply to me too much, but I will answer them anyway. 1. I plan everything!! Matter of fact I spent the better part of an hour yesterday printing recipes for the candy/cookie trays I give away at Christmas. 2. Right now the only exercise I get is chasing my 18 mon old around the house. I have a small fitness center about 3 miles from my house that is only $37 a month for FAMILY membership. They even have activities for kids as young as 4. As soon as I am on the loosing side, I will join there and make an appointment with one of the personal trainers. 3. Thanks for hitting me with heavy conviction this morning!!! I used to spend 3-4 hours a day reading, studing, and meditating. But since I have been on the OH site, it has dwindled down to an hour...if that a day. But that is still much more than I was reading last year. (see that, I just justified myself!! Shame on me!!) God bless, Dawn

Good Morning Annette & All! Annette, we got the same snow that you did last night! We have about 1 foot....it is beautiful! Schools are closed and everyone is out digging themselves out of this beautiful stuff! I just want to say to all of you, that I pray for those on this board daily and I love you all! You are such wonderful friends and I thank my Precious Savior for bringing you into my life! You are such a blessing & I love you! 1. I always have several things to choose from that I have planned out when groceries have been gotten, then I choose that day what I want to eat. I don't have a set time I eat, but I do make sure that whenever I eat breakfast, I then eat every four hours after that. So, the time of my breakfast sets my course for the day. 2. I am able to do my walking (with no more walker or assistance, PTL) and this week I DROVE MYSELF in to the youth center and walked around there. It was wonderful. No one was there and I was able to pray and sing and praise at the top of my lungs! Hallelujah! 3. I read my Bible everyday, but I have slacked off of "studying". I hope everyone has a blessed day in Jesus!!! Know that I am thinking of you, and I love you all! Love, Cindy

Hi Cindy, We you too! Yes The Lord has truely blessed us with this board. PRAISE THE LORD~ isn't it wonderfull all the progress you have made!!! God is so good. This surgery has been a God send ~ A true gift from The Lord! I went for about a week with out my cane, then my knees started giving out and my right hip started hurting really bad again. I could hardly walk for a few day's there. This morning I "walked" for an entire mile (with my walking away the pounds D.V.D.). I was exhausted when I was finished, but at the same time It felt so good! I'm feeling it now though. I hurt everywhere, and have a headache that won't quit. I couldn't find any S.F. liquid tylenol, not sure what to take for it. Maybe I will lay down for a bit after all. Keep up the wonderfull work Cindy. You are doing great! God bless you Cindy, Annette

Hi Annette & Everyone! Wow - I'm checking in late today! What a busy time! But I feel like if I don't try and touch base with all of you sometime during the day that I have missed out on some huge blessings! Great questions Annette! 1. No and no - my pouch is so fickle that I have to take it moment by moment - I am praying that as time goes on that I can plan better. 2. I am a Curves trainer - so I'm there early in the a.m. and I do both deep water and shallow water aerobics at the health club and I walk a lot - I need to be in good condition to ski with my family. 3. Not as often as I should. My husband tries to keep me on task with my Bible reading but I do love to study the Bible and use various study guides - I love R. C. Sproul's Table Talk - that is my daily devotion and study. Love ya all! God Bless, Lynda Phil. 4:8

Well, it's probaly closer to Saturday Roll Call than Friday.... I've had a busy day....we are still getting estimates and adjusters and repairman from Wilma damage. It was a beautiful day today, the temp was 84, so I did a lot of work outside. ~Answers~ 1. Yes & No. I pretty much know what my choices are....they don't vary that much. Breakfast is pretty much on schedule.....and so is dinner but lunch varies. 2. I walk & bike ride. I'm fortunate enough to live in So. FL so the weather is especially great for walking this time of year. 3. I read my Bible in the evening before bed....it's relaxing. My husband and I just finished a Bible study through my kid's church (ChristFellowship) in West Palm Beach -- God @ Home, A 40 Day Journey.
