*** Sunday's Rollcall ***
Good morning everyone! I'm sure you are all at church this morning. We go on Sat nights here so I have all morning to catch up with what you have all been posting. We have so many people posting now that I feel like I hardly know some of you. I love the daily questions. So I'll start some.
Lynda always talks about the weather and all that beautiful snow! So...
1. How's the weather today?
It is warm and balmy here in Houston. We have been running the AC for the last 3 days. It RARELY snows here. I would have said never, but it actually snowed here on Christmas Eve last year! It was the first time I had ever seen it snow here since I moved here in 1982! There is a cold front coming that is supposed to cool things off a little this afternoon. Yeah. I would love some cooler weather!
2. What have you been doing for exercise lately?
My treadmill came with a defective part (hopefully this won't be a huge hassel) so the only exercise I am getting is shopping and chasing my monkeys around the house.
3. What is the last book you read?
"Effective Police Supervision" These were my two basic reactions. I am tired of reading now and only want to watch mindless TV for a while.
I hope you all have a blessed day!
Love, Jacinda
Good morning everyone. Thanks for getting things rolling, Jacinda. I'm in the process of getting my music ready for church this morning. I help lead the music portion of our worship. I love to sing praises to our Lord! After church, our family is going to get together to go Christmas tree hunting. We have a fake tree that's already up, but I can't resist going and watching the fun! I have 2 sons; one is married and has two sons, and my other son has a girlfriend. We're all going.
Here are my answers to the QOD:
1. How's the weather today?
It's cold and rainy! The mountains around us have be deluged in snow, so skiing is great for those who like to ski. Not me! BRRRR! They thought the snow might get to us earlier in the week, but it didn't. I'm glad! I'm still trying to figure out how to stay warm when I go outside. My DH and I bought a twin sized electric blanket that I can wrap up in when I am sitting around the house. My thermostat just isn't what it used to be 70 lbs ago!
2. What have you been doing for exercise lately?
Well, I am supposed to be walking every day. Brrr! Note the above answer! I'm cold! I think I'm going to go mall walking again now that it is cold and rainy. I also have a series of physical therapy exercises that I am doing every day. I hope to get more kinds of exercises when I am able. I love to swim and hope to do that when my shoulders and arms feel better.
3. What is the last book you read?
I am currently reading "THE UNQUENCHABLE WORSHIPPER - Coming Back to the Heart of Worship," by Matt Redman
Well, I'd better kick it into high gear and get out of here for church. God bless you all!

Just got back from worship service. Time to rest to go back to choir practice and evening worship. I am on the praise team.
1. Sunny an 70 degrees
2. Walking, but not enough. Pray I learn to do some cardio- (will help since surgery is postponed indefiniltly)
3. Spiritual Leadership by Oswald Sanders. Last time I read an entire book was in my seminary class last year.
have a great day!

Good afternoon all! Well, we joined First Baptist Church in Nashville, GA this morning. We have really enjoyed the fellowship in that church and can really feel God's presence there. So, we decided to join. I guess we should since we've been singing in the choir anyway. The Christmas musical (called "The Gift") went great last night. We perform again tonight and then next Sunday night. The first act is just secular type Christmas music with the kids throwing fake snowballs (no snow here in south Georgia!) and building a snowman and things like that. Then Act 2 gets to the part about Jesus and his birth, death and resurrection. It really is a great musical that our music minister put together. Two of the songs that we sing are by David Phelps. They are "Joy, Joy" and "The End of the Beginning". Both beautiful songs. Our narrator started crying towards the end when he said "Jesus died for us." It made the entire musical even better because you could see how much it meant to him. Anyway, I'll go on to the QOD.
1. How's the weather today?
Well, I don't think it ever snows down here. I have lived in places that have gotten snow before, but nothing like ya'll up north get. It is supposed to be 77 degrees here today but I think it is warmer than that. We had to turn the AC back on.
2. What have you been doing for exercise?
Ummmm, okay, I'm going to admit this, I don't do much of anything. Okay, don't get onto me too much. I keep telling myself I should at least go join Curves but I'm afraid I'll get bored with it and will just end up wasting my money.
3. What is the last book you read?
I honestly can't remember. I enjoy reading mysteries and I know I've read one recently but I can't remember the name of it. My Ladies' Bible Study group is going through the Women of Faith study called Encouraging One Another. Does that count?
Anyway, everyone have a blessed Sunday!!
Shel
Hi everyone!
Heres my answers to the questions of the day......
1) It is really sunny in California today. The temp right now is 65. I think in the mountains they got snow.
2) To be hones I haven't been exercising. I will start in the morning.
3) Holy bible.... I read it daily. I also have been reading "Your best life now" by Joel Osteen.
I want to share something with yall. I went to a women's bible study yesterday and it was awesome! I had a spiritual breakthrough. It was great. The message was "Beauty from Ashes". We have to let go of the past hurts, pains, depression, betrayals, etc. that are holding us back from our beauty.
Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty to ashes the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
In God's eyes, we are not ugly, short, obesed, we do not have any flaws. We are the image of him. He lives through us. In the past, when people have called us names it was like they were calling God those names.
So, I pray that we all walk tall and hold our heads up high because we are God's walking image. I pray that when we get on flight 2006 that we don't take any excess baggage that we have been carrying through past years. Get rid of betrayal, hurtfulness, unforgiveness, or anything that is not Godly and that has been holding you back. Our beauty comes from the inside out. When we have beauty from the inside out, it shows on the outside. People will be asking you why you are so happy or you have such a glow to you. We know why. It's God!
Well, I pray that this was inspirational to each and everyone of you. May God bless you today and throughout your life.
Take care!
God Bless,
Tamara
Hi Jacinda! And Everyone!
Church was wonderful this morning! We had communion and you could feel the Spirit - it was great! Our pastor reminded us this morning that it was love that sent Jesus to the cross - my worldly mind wanted to argue with that for a moment because it was our sin. But really it was love because God didn't need to do that. We all deserve death but it was by His grace, love, and mercy that we are redeemed - thank you God!
1. Yes, I do like to talk about the snow! The weather here today is cold and sunny. The mountains look absoluetly majestic with their pure, white coats on with the sun gleaming off of them. I can hardly wait to go skiing! Some resorts have opened up but the one I like here in Utah opens Dec. 17th. My ski equipment is ready!!
2. Well, I have been working hard to get ready for skiing so I have been doing Curves 3X a week , deep water aerobics 2X a week, shallow water aerobics 3X a week, and lots of walking. It is paying off! I am a little more than 7 weeks out from surgery and I am down 60 pounds! Thank you Lord!
3. The last book I read was .. well actually I usually have two or three going at a time - right now I am reading:
"Grow in Grace" by Sinclair Furguson - for Christian growth
"The Westminster Confession of Faith" along with Bible reading for theology study
"No, It's Not Hot In Here" by Dick Roth to help me understand my menopause
And I like to watch mindless TV too Jacinda!
During our prayers in the evening both my husband and I pray for everyone. He wanted me to let everyone know how much he appreciates how much you all help me! I love ya all!
God Bless,
Lynda
