Hello everyone I am writing to ask your I received a phone call from my husband tonight. He is serving over in Iraq. He commented about the lack of mail and e-mail he receives from those who have promised to write him. Therefore, I have an and a prayer request. Why not ask my new friends at OH christianity forum if they would mind sending an e-mail and/or a card to my husband? Why not ask them to keep him in their prayers during the remainder of his tour in Iraq? Additional prayer warriors are always appreciated. Therefore, I am sending this prayer request. This is his information e-mail [email protected] snail mail SSG Johnny Crider 115th Maintenance Co., 5th Platoon APO-AE 09331 Thank you to everyone who agrees to pray for my husband and/or send him a note. God bless you and your families, Kathy

Kathy: I will pray for the safety of your husband! All the men including your husband are just so brave and they are doing such good work over there. Not alot of what they are doing is on the news stations but tonight on FOX I did see a very wonderful piece on just how much the people over there have been able to accomplish due to the Americans and their allies and their commitments. I will ask our church to pray for Johnny Crider and all the brave men and women serving around the globe and in the middle east. God Bless you! Kelly

Dear Kelly, thank you so much for agreeing to pray for my husband. It is so true what you say about the news media and the lack of attention concerning the good that is being accomplished over there. While my husband was home in October, he shared with us that his unit helped to build school desks and chairs for the local school. When school started there, the children had no supplies or furniture or books. It is reportedly stated that the teacher kept telling her students that the Americans were coming and they would receive their school supplies and needs. My husband said his unit was one of many units that helped to supply the needs of that school and nothing will erase the look of gratitude and the hugs he received that day from the students. This occured in the Najaf region of Iraq. Again Thank you for your prayers. We are promised in God's word "the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man/woman avails much" James 5:16b God's blessings and healing upon you, Kathy

KATHY, I WILL PRAY FOR YOUR HUSBAND AND SEND HIM A NOTE. WE SHOULD ALL KEEP OUR MILITARY IN OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS DAILY. WITHOUT THEM AND THE SACRIFICES OF OUR VETERANS, WHERE WOULD WE BE TODAY?? AND I PRAY FOR AN END TO THIS WAR SO OUR MEN AND WOMEN CAN COME HOME SOON. I AM SO PROUD OF ALL OF THEM. BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. TRUDY

Dear Trudy, Thank you for the sweet note. I have been truly touched today as I check my inbox and find messages of support from people I have never met personally, but who share a common bond with me. My heart is filled with such gratitude. I wish I could reach out and give you a big hug from a "not as big" gal in Missouri. I pray God's blessings on you and your family as well. I wish there was an emoticon symbol for a hug. Hugs, Kathy

Dear Lynda, I really like your hat in your picture. I have yet to be brave enough to wear a hat. I have always longed to. I thought it would make me look like a southern belle. I am originally from Texas. Although now that I am losing weight I might go back to my cowgirl look. I have missed my black jeans and cowgirl boots. I even had a leather notebook with my name on it in Jr. High and High School. It was given to me by a elderly gentleman in our church who was a former bar owner. He spent his money buying surprises for the youth in the church who made the honor roll at school. Thank you for praying for my husband. It has truly touched me this evening to read all the kind words that have been expressed on this website. Blessings to you and your family, Kathy Psalm 4:8 the verse I have claimed for my husband while he is away.

Dear Cee Cee, Thank you. I hope your brother is safe and well. Is he serving in that region of our world? Or is he helping to keep our nations shores safe? My brother served with the US Coast Guard during the 1990's. You are so correct in your statement that emails and snail mail mean a lot to them. Thank you for helping to brighten my husband's day. Please send me your brother's e-mail or address and I will be glad to write him as well. A big hug to you from Missouri, Kathy

Kathy-- You are most welcome, and thank you. My (baby) brother served right after 9/11 as he was already in Dubai when the attacks happened (they were already on their way back home when they sent them back, the USS John Paul Jones was amongst the first to get there), since then he has been on shore duty .. he is a Naval specialty proffesor @ the age 25. next year he starts a 2-3 year assignment in Japan. When he leaves I'll get back to you ;) --Cee Cee
