Good Morning Everyone! Wow this is the first time I've started roll call! Being out here in the West I am usually one of the last ones on. Everyone must be out shopping or really busy! The snow is just beautiful! We are leaving in a few minutes to go up to one of the many ski resorts in our area to check out the snow conditions. I am so excited! God is so good - our friend Diane made it through surgery! All of you are in my prayers! Questions for today: Are your parents still living and do they live close to you? My answer: Yes both my parents are still living and I live about 2 1/2 hours away from them. I love them both dearly. I love all of you! God Bless, Lynda Phil. 4:8

Hi Lynda! Happy Saturday! I have been busy cleaning...trying to get ready to haul out the decorations...lol. Both of my parents are deceased. My dad died a few years ago. My mom died unexpectedly in August, when I was only 14 days post op. That was really hard for me. I am just so thankful she now sees the face of God! She knew where she was going! All of my family lived/lives in NC, which is not that far from here. My brothers are coming in a couple of weeks to spend the weekend with us. That should be fun. It will be the first time we are all in the same house since we were little. Gotta get back to cleaning....have a great day! Blessings! Stephanie

Good afternoon everyone! Well, it is sunny and beautiful down here in the south. I've been working a little and doing laundry. We have our Christmas program tonight put on by our church choir and drama team as well as our orchestra. I'm sure it will be beautiful. Well, as for the QOD: Both of my parents are still alive, praise God!! I also praise him for allowing me to be raised in a home with two Christian parents. Unfortunately, we now live about 14 hours away from them but we call and email all the time. I do miss them terribly. Everyone have a great afternoon and if you see this would you say a prayer for our Christmas program. We will be doing it tonight, tomorrow night and next Sunday night. Pray that God will be glorified through it. Thanks!! Shel

Hi Shel, I am just now getting back on here but I will be praying for the Christmas program and that God will be glorified. It sounds wonderful with the choir, drama team, and an orchestra - I love this time of the year! Will you be able to spend Christmas with your parents even though they are 14 hours away? My father has been battling cancer and we will find out just before Christmas if his cancer treatments have been effective. Please pray! Love ya! God Bless, Lynda Phil. 4:8

Hi everyone. It's about 1:40 p.m. on the west coast. My DH and I have been out shopping, and we are getting ready to go again. I have a small PTL. I bought some sox today, and they fit over the calves of my legs! Yay! It is so exciting! For my QOD: My parents are both deceased. Dad died 16 years ago, and my Mom just a little over 2 years ago. However, my DH's folks are still living, and I praise the Lord for them! They have treated me like a daughter, and I love them like they are my own parents. OK. I need someone to either inspire me or give me a switch kick in the seat of my pants! I have been vacillating back and forth with 2 to 4 lbs for over a month! I weighed in this morning at 204 lbs, which is just 1/2 lb from my lowest weight. I think I am scared to go lower or something. Breaking that 200 pound barrier feels like breaking the sound barrier to me. If I can just get below that, I think I will feel like I can keep going on losing weight. Know what I mean? So, who is going to be the first one to inspire me or give me a swift kick?? God bless you either way, and I pray that you all have a wonderful weekend. Love, Peg

Hi Peg! I love the little PTL moments - and your socks over your calves is a great moment - so tangible! I feel like this surgery has helped me to recognize the PTL moments - I can't believe what a blessing it has been. A swift kick? Well, I don't know about that - maybe a big hug and encouragement - but I think I understand about be scared to go lower. I have used my fat as an excuse sometimes to not do things that I think the Lord is calling me to do out of fear I may fail or displease someone. Peg you have already had so many neat victories and now it's time for another - break the 200 pound barrier - I know we are all rooting (sp?) for you and you are definately in my prayers! I love you! Wait a minute -I think you just helped me more than I helped you! God Bless, Lynda Phil. 4:8

I have just discovered this forum. I decided to check out some other areas on this web-site. I am 4 months post-op and I am trying to get a support group started for the Fort Leonardwood,MO area. In regard to your QOD Both of my parents are living. My father's birthday was yesterday, 12/2. My parents live about three hours away on the same 10 acres that my brother lives on in Neosho, MO. I thank God I was raised in a Christian home and that my parents gave us the freedom to explore our world within proper guidelines. My parents have been very supportive of me since the surgery. Only recently my father confessed to me that he blamed himself for my weight problem. WOW did that take me by surprise! I seem to have genetically inherited all the bad things from his side of the family. I assured him God had a reason for me being created the way I was, and that I don't blame him for anything. I have been spending my day chatting with my oldest daughter on IM and checking out my profile page which was just recently completed by the wonderful OH volunteers. It is very cold, dark, and gloomy here but no snow yet. Have a great day, Kathy Psalm 4:8

Hi Cindy thanks for the welcome so how do you get the emoticons and your picture on your post. I really enjoy reading all the posts on this website. Wow, there are so many people who have had WLS surgery. Our annual Christmas parade is tomorrow afternoon. My son will be playing the drums for the Praise Team on our church float. It is either raining or snowing actually I believe it is a mixture of both outside. Have a great day tomorrow Kathy
