Yes, Diane. I have been there. I have sung my heart out to the Lord while I struggled. I spent 20 days in the hospital in August of this year to have the rest of my stomach, spleen, and part of my pancreas removed. They made me a pouch for a stomach. I had my first surgery in April 2004 when they removed most of my stomach due to stomach cancer. Anyway, this time I decided to be an instrument to our Lord. I sang songs of praise to Him while I was in the hospital. I sang a hymn to God when they were removing my staples. When I was at home and couldn't sleep, I got out my Praise and Worship songbook and sang songs to Him. When I couldn't feel His presence, I still knew He was there and loving me, even in my darkest hours. God is so faithful. You keep singing to Him because He is there. You are His special child, Diane. He loves you so much and only wants to prosper you. God bless and keep you, dear sister in Christ.
Love,
Peg
I am amazed at your testimony! I stand in awe of Him!
You are beautiful beyond description
Too marvelous for words
Too wonderful for comprehension
Like nothing ever seen or heard
who can grasp Your infinite wisdom?
who can fathom Your mercy so free?
you are beautiful beyond description
Lamb of God who died for me
I stand, I stand in awe of You
I stand, I stand in awe of You
Holy God to Whom all praise is due
I stand in awe of You
I support was has already been said in the previous posts. I want to add this little tidbit. I started trying to get approved for WLS over five years ago. My husband had insurance provided by Wal-Mart. It made it difficult since they changed carriers every year. Most of the carriers refused to cover the surgery. They claimed it was an elective procedure.
The last carrier insisited I complete one year of counseling through a group known as Resources for Living. I thought this was absolutely absurd since the counseling was conducted telephonically.
Meanwhile, my husband had been praying and he told God to allow whatever needed to happen to make the surgery become a reality. Shortly thereafter my husband received notification that he was being ordered to active duty service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
I was able to have my surgery within 7 months of his activation. I appreciate and love my husband so much for the sacrifice he has made for me and others to enjoy our freedoms. I especially am touched by his sacrifice that allowed me to have my WLS.
