Hello everyone~ I have been lurking on this board for a week or so and thought that I would post. I find this board a blessing. I am Christian but find myself to be a quiet, uninformed Christian. By this I mean, I don't verbally give the glory to God as I should and, I am not well versed as most of you seem. I am hoping that I will be able to learn a great deal from all of you about my walk in Jesus and WLS. He is the one that he gotten me here and it is for a reason I am sure. Please say a prayer for me that I can become a much stronger Christian woman/wife and that if it be his will, that I am graced with the chance to have WLS. Thank you all so much and I look forward to posting many more times with all of you. God Bless~ Jeanna

Jenna, First let me say HI and welcome to our little corner of the www. I'm happy you found us. Never feel intimidated or any less of a Christian when compared to someone else. I was born and raised in church and never paid any attention to anything. After I gave my life to Christ I still didn't read, study, or meditate like I should had. It wasn't until a Wednesday night bible study about a year ago that I did a 180 degree turn around. The pastor was throwing out questions and I sat queitly staring at my lap hoping he wouldn't pick me. With every question 3 hands would spring up; my husband (one of the ministers), the other associate minister, and his wife. The pastor said, "Ok, you three can't answer anymore." That night I went home so upset. How can I stand up and call myself a minister's wife and not even know God's word. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*PREACHING TIME~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 6 times it is mentioned in the bible of "hiding His word in your heart" That must mean something. When God repeats Himself it's because He wants you to take notice. Why do you think the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) basicly say the same thing? Because it is important that we understand the birth, life, death, burial, and ressurection of Jesus. Anywhy the 6 verses are Josh 14:7, Psalms 119:11, Psalms 119:58, Psalms 119:161, Jeremiah 15:16, & Jeremiah 20:9. Obviously it is very important that we understand that we are to hide God's word in our hearts. The reason we are told to do this is because there are going to be MANY times that you are not going to know how to handel situations in your life and you are going to call on the Holy Spirit within you to help. He can only help with what he has to work with. EVERY possible situation known to man has a solution found in the bible. That means that EVERY SINGLE TIME we are faced with something, there is a scripture that can be used for it. Now if we don't hide God's word in our hearts how can the Holy Spirit bring up these scriptures to memory for us to apply them? You might be saying, well that's too hard. I can't remember scripture. Yeah you can. Look at 1 John 2:27 "But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him." (NKJV) When you came to Christ He annointed you with the ability to do ALL things. Isn't God good? Lave, Dawn in NJ

Hi Jeanna, I will gladly pray for you. We are all at different levels with our walk with Christ. Please don't compare yourself to others. Just get your mind set that you will learn God's word. First pray about it. Pray that the Lord would open your heart and mind to recieve him. Pray for understanding of The Word. Then take some quiet time every day to read, study and memorise scripture. Join a bible study group. You will get it sweetie. Don't ever give up on God, He doesn't give up on us. God bless you Jeanna, Annette

I wanted to thank all of you for your kind words and inspiration. I hope to continue to gather knowledge and inspiration from all of you on this board. I hope that in my naivety you will help me to grow deeper in His Word and in prayer. You are all strong women that God has blessed and I pray that he continues to bless every day. Please excuse my silly questions in the future, I know that I will have them, but my goal, like I said, is to get to know ALL of you, as well as the rest on this board, and to learn with your guidance. Continued Blessings~ Jeanna

Jeanna~ First of all you are BEAUTIFUL, simply, utterly stunning. I love to look at your smile. You and your fella look so happy together. You know something else, PLEASE don't feel worried about where you are in your walk with Christ. We are ALL sinners saved ONLY by the grace of God, noone better than the other. I am just glad that you felt welcomed. Because if we as Christians are neglecting that, that we are missing the ol boat! I have a feeling that WE will be as blessed by your presence as you are by being here! Praise God that you are with us~ Becky

Hi Jeanna, Be encouraged! We all go through times in our lives when we don't feel we are giving God the Glory He deserves. God knows your heart! You are already becoming a stronger Christian woman just by asking for prayer. That's hard to do. I know...I tend to try and struggle through things alone way too long before asking for prayer! Jesus is so great. He is the best teacher you could ever know. May I encourage you to read a chapter in proverbs or in the Psalms each day. Or every other day. Getting God's word in to your mind and heart is the only way you will change! His word is how we get to know Him and His will for our life. His word is how we get our mind transformed and renewed! We can do a lot ourselves, but the lasting results come from what the Spirit does in our lives through the word of God, worship and prayer. Stay encouraged. Keep in touch. I love this group too, even though I don't post really often. I can't get to my computer as much as I would like to. God bless! Hugs, Robin

Robin~ Thank you so much, your words are encouraging. I am planning on reading a passage or 2 tonight but didn't know where to start. I hope that I will be able to encourage you as well. It was hard to ask for prayer today, but Jesus is working through me and He directed me here for a reason. I hope to hear from you more often, I can tell that there are great things that lie ahead for all of us here as we give God the Glory that only He deserves. God Bless~ Jeanna

Jeanna, You know what you might find helpful? www.crosswalk.com I go there EVERY day, probably 3 or 4 HOURS a day. Go to the home page, then along the tabs let your mouse go over "bible study tools", from there click on "devotionals", everyday they have 8 or 10 new devotions to read. They also have a thing in there called "bible pathways". It takes you through the whole bible in one year. Not only do they tell you what to read, but it goes over what you read when you are done to further your understanding. Maybe you can make that a New Year's Resolution!! Love, Dawn
