I just wanted to let you all know the response from friends and family has been overwhelmingly positive. I posted some of the comments on my profile! Even the ones who have (valid) concerns have been loving and kind. One of my friend sisters recently passed away shortly after having Gastric Bypass and they are trying to rule out whether it was the WLS or not. So, she just said she would be praying and cautioned me to be careful! Also, another friend (a doctor) said that he knew LOTS of people who succeeded, but there were some who did not. Those are the types of warnings I appreciate though. I LOVE that my friends can be honest. But, for the most part I received about 40 incredibly positive responses!! Plus, I am so glad that I did this. I was starting to feel shame and then I realized that only I can change that feeling. So, I laid it all out on the line. It was humiliating, but in a kind of reverent way. Now, when I see my friends and family I won't have to have the ackward "WOW, what happened to you?" convo!! Anyway~ I am feeling blessed and I hope that even through this GOD WILL BE GLORIFIED!! Blessings~ Beck

Hi, Becky! Wonderful!! I knew it! Isn't is wonderful that even the ones who have concerns are still supportive? I have a good friend who is a nurse and she took care of WLS patients several years ago and even though they were not good experiences for her she was very supportive. On the other side another friend of mine who had WLS didn't tell anyone and everyone was scared she had cancer or something and then when we did find out we all felt horrible that she didn't trust us - and we could have been praying for her but instead we were all worrying. I believe knowledge is freedom and the more you know about something both the good and the bad, you can pray accordingly. I do believe in general prayers but I also believe that God wants us to know what we are walking into if possible. Making a decision to have WLS is huge and if we are armed with information then we can answer our loved ones with confidence even if the news isn't always good. God is good and I know He will be glorified in your life Becky! I am 6 weeks out and it is incredible the things I can do now for my family and church that I couldn't do just 7 weeks ago! Thank you Lord! Love ya! God Bless, Lynda Phil. 4:8
