A Newbie!
Hi, I wanted to introduce myself...I have been overweight for some time now and due to have surgery December 16th. I am nervous but I know the good Lord will see me through. I collect angels and boyds bears, have 3 beautiful grown children and 3 beautiful grandsons. Hoping for a granddaughter someday. I am a very active member of the VA board and what a wonderful group they are. I am from Danville, VA. I hope I can keep up with two boards! Would love to meet anyone from around here.

Hi Betsy! It's good to have you here with us! I know what you mean about trying to keep up on more than one board. I am mainly here but I visit the Indiana board, October 2005 board and the over 50 BMI board. This is the only one I usually answer roll call on. I will keep your up coming surgery in prayer. Again, glad you're here! God bless! Cindy
Hi Betsy,
WELCOME! I will keep you in my prayers for your up coming surgery on Dec. 16th. This forum is wonderful and the people all love the Lord and it is so refreshing - I have been encouraged so many times.
I had surgery 5 weeks ago and I am doing very well and thanking the Lord for giving me this gift of surgery. I am off my high blood pressure and diabetes meds! I am hoping to be off my CPAP machine soon. I have only been weighing on Sundays because I have this stupid obsession with scales but as of last Sunday I was down 46 lbs. The amazing thing though is how I only eat 2oz. of food a meal and I am full and satisfied!
I have two granddaughters and now I'm hoping for a grandson! They are so fun and such a blessing!
The Lord be with you and give you peace through the whole WL process!
God Bless,
Lynda

Lynda, What a warm welcome. Congrats on your surgery and 46 pounds??? My goodness, it would take me forever to lose that much at one time....I can't wait to have the surgery and get off of my diabetes meds and high BP meds and colestoral meds. I also have MS so it will really help with that. Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. I am getting very excited and nervous but I know that God will be there with me.
Hugs,

Betsy,
Nice to see a new face around here. And you do have a cute mug too, a real sweet smile.
My family and I were down in Dry Fork two weeks ago picking up the new addition to our family, a miniature schnauzer, named Yogi.
We traveled through Falwell country. Never seen so many Baptist churches in all my life. It was coooool!!
Please do us a favor? Remind us of your surgery in days right before, we want to be be praying for you.
Love in Christ,
Sally
