Awesome Lyrics
Today in church my worhsip team picked a song that really touched me right where I am in my WLS journey. Thanks to God and all your prayers, I have finally turned that corner from constant nausea to being able to get the nourishment I need!! My taste buds are starting to come back and I've also found some protein drinks that I can take. Praise the Lord. Here are the lyrics...I know many of you know it and it will be so apropos to our growth process with gastric bypass:
I'm trading my sorrows, I'm trading my shame, I'm laying them down for the joy of the Lord. I'm trading my sickness, I'm trading my pain, I'm laying them down for the joy of the Lord. Yes Lord, yes Lord, yes yes Lord!!! I am pressed but not crushed, persecuted not abandoned, struck down by not destroyed, I am blessed beyond the curse for his promise will endure and his joy will be my strength!!! Though the sorrow may last for the night, his joy comes in the morning!!!
Blessings to all today,
Cynthia S.
Singin' YES LORD, YES LORD, YES, YES LORD AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love that song. I love the part that says "I am blessed beyond the curse for His promise will endure His JOY is gonna be my strength. The the sorrow may last for the night HIS JOY comes in the morning!!" The song is straight from the WORD! Lamentations...He is turning them to SONGS!
You are doing AWESOME girl! I am praying for you so often!! Keep us updated.
Blessings~
This is one of my favorite songs. we sing it often at our church where I am on the Praise Team. These words have been my mantra since i first heard the song. I have had so many illnesses and surgeries since my original WLS. "I'm trading my sickness, I'm trading my pain, I'm laying them down for the joy of the Lord. Yes Lord, yes Lord, yes yes Lord!!! I am pressed but not crushed, persecuted not abandoned, struck down by not destroyed, I am blessed beyond the curse for his promise will endure and his joy will be my strength!!! Though the sorrow may last for the night, his joy comes in the morning!!!" this song will set your feet to dancing.
Get the Katina's album "lifestyle" They have an amazing version of "Trading my Sorrows". I want to say that it came out in 2003 or 2002. It is great!! It is a cd of nothing but praise and worship!! I saw them live At Calvery Chapel of Philadelphia and at Glouster County Community Church in Sewell. Actually, if you want to save some $$, privately email me your address and I'll burn you a copy.
God Bless,
Dawn
