Just discovered this message group

Hello Everyone. My name is Robin and I just discoverd this group on the message boards. I am a pre-opper. I have met with the surgeon and am in the process of completing my consultation appointments. The last one is next wednesday (nov 16). After that I should have a date for surgery soon. I am excited to see this group and be a part of you. I am also a military wife. My dh is retiring from the Army next summer. WOOHOO! I am excited while he is terrified. We are praying for God to direct his steps to another job, well-paying preferred. I am also looking for a job. We just moved to Maryland and so I am unemployeed for now. I have two girls, 16&13. They are such a delight, especially while my dh was in Korea for 15 months. He just returned in June. I am looking forward to getting to know y'all. I am excited about finally getting approved for surgery. The military insurance hasn't been known for paying for wls. But that has changed in recent years and so far this process has been painless. I have tried to get a referral for a surgery consult for over 5 years. This time the Dr. offered to refer me before I could ask. I praise God for that. I think that maybe now I am ready, emotionally and spiritually where as before I probably wasn't there yet. God's timing is truly perfect. Please write back. I haven't had much luck getting to know people on other boards and I hope this one is different. I'll talk to you again soon. In Christ, Robin

Hello Robin, congratulations on getting your referral and now on your way to WLS. I am not quite 3 weeks post op but continue to be so thankful for the opportunity to have this done and get on track to a healthier life. I certainly appreciate the military families and know it must be tough to have to be apart so much. I hope you will soon start this next phase of your life where you all will be able to have lots more time together. And there you will be getting trim, healthy and gorgeous! Hi Robin, I am new to this board too. I mostly enjoy reading what others write. I sometimes post as well, but not very often. I too am in the process of getting approval. My last appt. is on 11/16 as well. I have been through pysch. eval. and it went very well. I began looking into WLS about 2 yrs ago. I believed my husbands ins. didn't cover it. So I only researched it. I was wrong. My husband was given a new plan book (2 yrs ago) and one day he said "I have this insurance book on my desk for about 2 yrs. Do you need it" I was shocked that his employer even changed insurance plans. So I started looking through it and found that WLS is a covered expense. Talk about God's timing. I have been depressed for so long about my weight and praying that God give me the willpower to follow a diet and He did one better. And my husband, who is usually against surgery of any type (except in dire need) really supports me on this. Thank you God. Though now that I have the ball rolling, I do get plagued with fears. I know I just have to keep my eyes on God and pray for His counsel. Well my kiddies and a half day today so I gotta go. I hope to talk to you soon. In His love and mine, Debbie G.
