***Thursday's Roll Call***
Good Morning all!!!
I hope everyone has a Jesus filled day today!! I've been praying for all of you.
I want to thank Randy and Randall for the devotions that you post on the board. I do enjoy them!
How is everyone else doing? Cindy, I know you are getting really close to your date. I'm sure you are getting more and more excited. Jacinda, how are you doing? Everything going okay? Becky, how is your little girl? Is she better? Deborah, Sally, Annette, Cynthia, and everyone else, how are you doing? The board has been kind of quiet lately. Lets be sure to cover each other in prayer as I'm sure satan is going to try to attack. If I've missed anyone's name, I'm sorry. I don't mean to. Please post and let us know how you are doing.
We went to the junior high football game last night and it didn't rain! It has rained every game we've gone to. Our daughter is in the band and we actually got to hear the band play and our team won! It was a good game and I praise God for such a beautiful day yesterday. The high was around 81 or so and there was a nice breeze. Just beautiful!!! I love it when He gives us days like that.
Anyway, everyone have a God filled day! Blessings to all!!
Shel
To Shel and all board members: I have been missing the board because I have been so busy with volunteer efforts and getting ready for surgery on Tuesday! I have my nutritionist appt today and I have a million questions. I helped last weekend with my parents' church festival and dinner and this weekend my church is having a women's retreat. I've realized that I have to slow down and stop volunteering so much. I belong to two groups that each meet twice a month and church and home group takes up a lot of time, plus meetings to plan and coordinate activities. I'm swamped and it sounds crazy but this surgery is going to be like a forced vacation from it all. I am looking forward to doing nothing but healing. Thanks for all the support. I'm nervous about surgery.
Good Morning Shel and Cynthia,
Shel...I don't think this roll call would happen without you and Cindy to get it started everyday. Thank you so much for getting us going every morning. Cynthia and Cindy, you are both very much in my prayers right now with both of your surgeries next week. I know many others on this site are also praying for you. You will both be covered in prayer for safe and uneventful surgeries with minimal pain!
Today I am two weeks post op. I will call my doc's office today to see if I am ready for my soft solid diet. I have discovered that for now, if I do not walk first thing in the morning, it throws my whole day off. So I am forcing myself to walk first thing in the morning (while its cool) whether I feel like it or not. I always feel better afterwards.
Well...I am off to hit the books. I also hope everyone has a Jesus filled day.
Love Jacinda
Cynthia, I have been drinking Isopure protein shakes for the most part. I got the powder at GNC and it comes in different flavors. I got dutch chocolate being a typical chocolate loving woman. The taste is fine but for what ever reason, it is hard for me to get it down. My doc said to take one shake serving and divide it up into 3 equal parts to drink during the day. One shake has 12 oz and 50 grams of protein so this covers my protein for the whole day. They told me to drink/eat something every two and a half to three hours. I have been doing the protein drink first because that was what I was told to do. Broth has been great. It is the easiest thing to go down. I also had cream of wheat prepared with fat free milk very thin. I added some artifical sweetner and salt to flavor it up. That was also easy to get down. Other than that, I have had strained creamy soups. Just be careful not to get ones that have too much fat. If they do, you can ususally water them down with some broth or something to keep you from dumping. My doc also said I could have juice (like grape or apple...no citrus)if I alternated it with water. I have just made a half juice half water mixture that I drink. Ironically I did this to get in more calories because I realized that I was only taking in about 400 calories a day and that scared me. Who would have ever thought I would be worried about not getting enough calories. I'm not really worried about it now because I feel fine and my energy level is normal if not better than before. I just try to concentrate on sipping all day and getting some kind of "liquid food" in every 2 and a half to three hours. I hope this helps. Just remember that whatever you decide to get, you won't need much of it.
Hi Shel
I am glad you like reading the Gospel reflections. There were no replies to the three I have already posted ,so I was thinking that people were not interested in what The Lord has to say. Since you are reading them i will continue posting them, in the hope that others wil read them also.
God Bless
Randy
