Question
OOPS, sorry, I don't know where I got "Dohn" from? I did mean Dona. Blonde moment maybe?? Ha ha! I have never posted on "your board" before, nor do I intend to, its your forum to have your say and a place for you to do what you want, as is this forum. Why does it upset you so much Dona...(got it right ) I am not attacking you in any way shape or form contrary to what you may think.
I can post anything I want to on this board, as you are free to do so on your board. You have my word I will never post on your board, if you do not want me to, I am respectful of that.
Hope you have a great weekend, and that you are doing okay with why this board is here....weight loss surgery. By the way, just because I care about all people, how is that going for you?? Have you had surgery? I know it took me a long time to make up my mind and to decide to have it. I had to pray, I know you don't believe that, but I can agree to disagree with you, okay? Anyway, I am 6 weeks post op, and doing okay. I just like people, all people, and if I pray that is my choice.
Hey, here is a question I would like to know if you don't mind, what if a buddist or hindu said they were going to pray for you?? (Not asking sarcastically...just want to know more about your non belief, can't say belief.) Also, how did you come not to believe in anything at all?? When I was a non-Christian, I did believe in God, but I did not know that I had to have a personal relationship with Him...that is what we believe, just to explain, but were you raised that way by your parents, or how do most atheists become atheists? My brother used to be agnostic, but now he goes to church....still deciding what he wants to do, but he has 2 small girls. I have never told him he was wrong or stupid, he out of his own free will went to church after he had 2 children, and he loves it now.
We were raised by the same parents in the same house and went to Sunday school where they taught religion...yuck, and went through the whole meaningless religious traditions, but never explained it to us, why we should believe in God. I got that on my own when I was an adult and seeked on my own free will. Funny how one person comes to believe one thing and someone else another.
Just curious Dona, really, if you don't mind answering I would appreciate it, its how we learn about other people. (I have lived in 3 different countries, from the Philippines, to Japan, to Germany) and I love other cultures and learning about other beliefs, so your thoughts are welcome to me, and if you want to post here, I don't mind personally. I don't think others would mind as well.
By the way, I have never tried to convert anyone or bash anyone, but praying for people is my perogitive and right. Hope you understand that and how I am trying to understand your side too.
Thanks Dona, and sorry about the name mix up! Don't know where that came from!
Respectfully,
Deb
So if you've never tried to bash anybody, who were you referring to when you said "The enemy is mad"?? And if you have no interest in converting anybody, why post anything about the Atheist board at all? Just ignore us. We'd like that. Really.
And I like pagans and Wiccans just fine as long as they don't cut me off in traffic. FYI Buddhists and Hindus leave people alone and don't talk about them. That's a good thing. A VERY good thing.
