Well, I've missed roll calls because I've been working at our St. Mary's County fair for 3 days and haven't even had a chance to turn my pc on. I chair the hobby/craft building and the turn out was great. We registered about 500 exhibits. It's a huge amount of work and for a person that sits at a PC all day for a job, working the fair was very hard physical work and NO air conditioning (it was about 90 degrees in MD yesterday). My whole body aches but that's ok, it's for a good cause and it's good for my body to be moving so much. I love the roll call idea, it will encourage me to visit this page everyday and check in...I don't want to stray. God bless all and I'm so grateful I have this family to turn to. Good Morning all! Wow Cynthia, sounds like you have been busy. Not much going on here I'm afraid. Wish there was something to keep me busy. It hasn't been as hot as it has been, around 90 here. I'm kind of getting tired of the 90's. Anyway, everyone have a blessed day and an awesome weekend. Shel

good morning Cynthia! I think I would enjoy touring your hobby/craft area. I'm not very good at crafts but I really enjoy seeing what others can do. I'm guessing this might be an interest of yours?? About the only 'craft' I can do is crochet. I have a big interest in rocks and minerals and enjoy seeing what people sometimes use these for in crafts. But even rocks by themselves are fascinating (its a fairly cheap hobby to collect them ) 90 degrees can take the starch out of you pretty fast, especially if its humid !!! We have been in the 90's all this week but its a dry heat so not too bad. But next week we are supposed to dip down into the 80's all week---whoo hooo!! My brother is a Rita evacuee who finally made it to my home last evening about 6pm. He started out at 9pm the evening before and had several miles of bumper to bumper... glad to see him and his family even if the cir****tances are not what we would prefer. I know we will enjoy our weekend with them. I am at work right now (can't you tell? ) Hope every one has a great day and wonderful weekend. Blessings! Gina

Good evening everyone! Many people have been praying for us here is Houston and it is working!!! Yesterday, in the face of a category 5 hurricane heading straight towards us, I really thought I had seen my kids for the last time. I tearfully called my cousin in Dallas and asked her to take care of my kids if my husband and I did not make it. She agreed, but she also had all her friends from church praying for us as did my Grandmother and all of you here who also prayed for us. It now looks like the storm is downgrading (now a cat. 3) and turning north....Praise God! We are about to hunker down for the night. Please keep us and those in Rita's path in your prayers. I'll update again as soon as I can. It may be a while if we lose power. God is good!

Dear Cynthia Snyder, yes I too am getting excited at the short time we have before we start our new journey. I hope you have wonderful day. My nutritionist appt and surgical consult is on Oct 6th. I am looking forward to getting lots of info on food plans, I over analyze everthing!! Dear Ginakay, I love crafting. I try something new every year about, I need to keep variety. I've done some quilting, crocheting, sewing, card making, memory boards, Christmas decorations, wreaths, needlepoint, etc. I'm no expert at any of them, I just see something on a home show or in a magazine and figure, hey, I think I can do that!! The quilt took me a full year, and it was only 12" squares! Anyway, I like to make gifts rather than buy if I can, so that's why I try new things. Working at the fair is fantastic. You get to see all the exhibits as they come in from children and adults, so you get to attach a face, a person, to the artwork. And when they are judged and you put the ribbons on, I get so happy thinking about how excited that person will be when they see their ribbon. My niece Shannon won 2nd place in the poetry contest and there were over 20 entries. Today I spent 6 hours volunteering with a youth group that makes and sells funnel cakes. In the booth since we have 6 burners with hot oil going all day, it was about 120 degrees inside. I think I may have sweated off 5 pounds. It's all worth it, I love to volunteer. Glad you are there to help your brother through Rita. Cynthia
